It’s no different than anyone saying they are in the military. What tomoe was mainly pointing out is us vets and active military can not make public statements as representatives of the US military. So her character can be military and patriotic themed, but her character cannot be “US Military (insert branch.)” this is a very dumbed down version of the actual rules

Essentially (my interpretation)
Why be a Male VTuber when you could achieve the same or even greater success showing your real self or being faceless? Many successful male creators prove there isn’t a strong expectation to be especially attractive.
With female content creators there is that initial expectation to BE attractive looking. So many women who would otherwise be unattractive irl use VTubing as a way to present themselves in a more desirable way.
- He’s not saying “stop being a male VTuber,” he's just kinda asking what's the benefit if you’re a guy. And any girl who is offended by what he's saying is either unattractive or insecure.

To answer some questions regarding the matter: As a VTuber who's also active duty military, it's strictly prohibited to attach official military related things to my brand. This is why I've never stated what branch I am, my MOS, etc.
It's not simply privacy— it's an actual rule.
