Canada has generally followed a very similar pattern of waves as the UK. I agree that levels are as low as they've been in a long time (since Omicron, well over a year), that there haven't been major new variants in a while, and that fall/winter may be a different story.

Covid hasn't gone away & I expect there will be new waves in autumn as people return to school, uni, work & immunity wanes. I still advocate for cleaner indoor air & other mitigations, but right now I believe there's not much Covid around. I, for one, am very glad of it. 13/13

It is very funny that everyone understands housing supply affects prices when talking about AirBnB ("they converted these apartments and took them off the market!") but doesn't extrapolate that forward to construction ("how are these new apartments supposed to lower rents?")

31. Also get your rooftop solar system built when you have scaffolding up for something else, 'cos scaffolding is expensive. Ideally build it when you’re building the roof, there will never be a better time. Rooftop solar mandates are good and should be more common.

My philosophy, which I hope others will share, is to NEVER publish in a journal that I hear through the grapevine asks/requests potential authors to cite papers in their journal. This "impact-factor hacking" is straight-up unethical.

Was surprised to see PM2.5 levels in my home creep up last night to ~20 ug/m3. Higher levels outside. Bumped up filtration inside --> ~10 ug/m3 inside now. Again, super valuable in our apocalyptic world to get an indoor air quality monitor.
