@traversymedia The keyword is “tools”; I’m in my very first job in the industry, and I was surprised we use jQuery, but it gives us more control over the UI we’ve built, and fits OUR needs. No need to always go with the latest framework, just something that fits YOUR needs.

Content creators telling people that a language/framework is “bad” is super annoying 😒 There are so many different paths to take, and there are different tools for each path/person Opinions and reasoning are helpful, but blanket statements are just ignorant and arrogant 👎

Got interested graphics in the first year of my CS degree. Found this helpful site called learnopengl.com; got busy but 4 years later, have a full time job as a developer, but going back to learning graphics, now using a book @JoeyDeVriez ;)

@solomancode @SeKa0815 @ElleArmageddon Also don’t forget that this has a ripple effect on the child’s relationships with others. You should be thankful for your parents’ sacrifices, but that doesn’t excuse them for doing things that can have severe negative impact with your future relationships.

@solomancode @SeKa0815 @ElleArmageddon There’s this field called “Psychology”. In this field they’ve done studies about the long term effects of what mental abuse can do to a child. This includes depression, anxiety, trust issues, unhealthy coping habits, etc. so the child should be thankful to their parents for this?

From the perspective of someone who had just started their first developer job: - It’s okay to feel overwhelmed, anxious, and shy! Take notes and ask questions! - That the company expects you to be an expert already - Pair programmjng, and mentoring, this is helping me A LOT

Biggest takeaway from this: “it’s NOT important to get it right the first time, it’s important to get right the LAST time”

As a junior developer, this is a pretty good read. From tools like SMART, PIP, to accepting that it’s okay to not know and that these uncertainties are opportunities to learn. Recommended 👌🏾 @pragprog @PragmaticAndy
