@bonniepetitex Or anybody, really. 10 years ago, I was in Elder Scrolls Online like a second FT job. Was easily in the top 1% of 38yo DPS. (The caveats say a lot lol, but I was decent at hard things.) Right now, I'm playing Cyberpunk on story mode. Love it. Life intervenes, things change.

EASY MODE IN GAMES IS FOR TOURISTS, CUCKS, GAY AND FEMALE okay, but it's also for: - people with full time jobs, three kids and zero free time - people with arthritis who used to speedrun ghosts n goblins in the 80s - people who just want to enjoy the story without a migraine - and people with a 200 game backlog who would like to finish at least one before they die call us tourists, we'll just keep doing what makes us happy
Leonel G@Leonel_Gun

@bonniepetitex No, people that play in baby mode are tourists, cucks, gay or female. They are not real gamers they will come with a lot of excuses but the games of old didn't come with difficulty selection for weak "gamers".

It is mid-April which means it is time to start thinking about the Summer movies! It is time again for #FantasyBoxOffice! We draft movies from Memorial Day through Labor Day and the standings are determined by who has the biggest opening weekend! If you want to play just comment!

@AlZeidenfeld @AriFleischer Al. Dude. Love what you're doing with your platform since you've stepped back from content. So I know you know we have to apply the same standard to our side as we want applied to theirs. It's what's right, not what benefits our team. If it's BS, he clears his name. If not...

@DrewMcWeeny @MikeKalinowski Replying here because I saw Drew's response. Lots of time with both, both are great, but entirely different. Starfield is all story/missions, with a side of exploration. NMS can be light on story (though lots of new stuff since I played), all about exploring, building, etc.

Gamer friends, I’ve been looking to get into a Space exploration game. I know the history with both Starfield and No Man’s Sky, but heard they both have come a long way. If you’ve played them both, which one do you prefer? #starfield #nomanssky

Well we made the merge! We had a double elimination last week and I don't think either was a big surprise. The scoring will get more interesting from here as the game becomes individual so let's get to this week's scoring and standings from #FantasySurvivor

@BootsRiley Have seen it a couple times in the far northern Chicago 'burbs (AMC in Vernon Hills, IL). Definitely before Crime 101, can't remember if the other was Bone Temple or Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die (or maybe both). Looks great!

If you've seen the trailer to I Love Boosters in theaters, please tell me what city it was in. I'm especially wondering if people are seeing it in either the midwest or the south.

We are just SIX weeks away from #FantasySurvivor Season 50! We already know the cast so I'd love to do drafts ahead of time. I know a lot of you said you wanted back on my last Season 49 post but please comment if you want to play for 50 even if you already have! Come on in!

@Max_Fisher I find the worst/dumbest criticisms tend to focus on what the film isn't about (politics, race, etc) instead of what it is (the world we leave for the next generation).

@playerqDFS Been on this train for a couple years: - obv need to take a walk every day - sometimes twice for 20-30 easier than once for 40-60 - take calls pacing when you can - need that last 1500? Grab a book and walk around the house while you read. Two birds.

I wish I had known how many steps 10,000 is before I resolved to walk 10,000 steps a day. This is insane. I walked home from the bar today and it wasn't even 6,000?????

@VirtualElena This is a good review. I don't think your take is exactly right, but it's really close to something...profound? Good? Correct? I'm not sure. Just not confident whichever Safdie this is from cares about the pro-natalist movement. But I agree on your framing.

Notes on MARTY SUPREME: - There are only two important scenes in the film: the first scene, when Marty impregnates his girlfriend in the back of the shoe shop where he reluctantly works, and the final scene, where he meets his child for the first time. The entire prolonged midsection of the film: the ping pong games, the elaborate heists, the swindling of Abel Ferrara, the crushed dog in the bathtub, immolated gas station, hustling of the kids in the bowling alley (plus Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin O’Leary), shootouts, even Marty’s triumph against Endo, ONLY exist so their importance/significance can be negated by the ending shot of the film, when Marty looks into the eyes of his kid and tears up and clearly realizes “this is all that really matters”. - I’m not sure if it was intended this way, but for that reason the movie succeeds as a work of pronatalism (and the 1952 postwar era does coincide with the baby boom). - But it’s funny that, for a film whose marketing celebrated audacity, big swings, unapologetic attention-seeking (Chalamet “SCHWAP”ing on Zoom, the orange blimps, the line for jackets in Soho, the flanks of orange ball-headed guards, Timmy shivering atop the Sphere) the message of the film seemed to be the exact opposite of what all that promotion espoused: actually, none of your dreams matter, and everything will recede and be reframed when your meet your progeny for the first time and your real purpose becomes clear. - In other words, the point of all that marketing was to get you to see the movie. But the point of the movie was to tell you that all of that marketing was pointless (or at least, the aspects of the film that the marketing refers to are pointless). Marty never plays a game with the orange balls, in fact he dumps them all outside the apartment window of a fleeting business partner during one of his many adult tantrums throughout the film) - I’m not sure if that’s genius or trolling. - Other sports/athleticism/“big dreams” movies (e.g. Rocky, The Wrestler, even I Tonya and Dodgeball and Black Swan for that matter) actually use each sequence of the game/match/performance to advance the plot/frame the character’s state. They’re all shot differently: some in slow motion, some with close-ups and focus on technique, others are montage sequences. But in Marty Supreme, all of the ping pong games were shot in pretty much the same way. Again a kind of “none of this really matters in the end” statement? - tl;dr: Marty Supreme is a 2h29m movie where only the first and last five minutes matter, but those minutes only matter *because* the rest of the film underscores how nothing else matters except for those moments. - So I guess it works as a movie
