a fun and weird part of ai is the zero ego vibe
i just asked chat if i should switch to codex for a terminal api task and it said nah stick with claude for now
@Sky_SNL The instinct to protect valuable content behind a paywall is an alluring trap
We want you to succeed, you're doing great!
But if people can't watch and share your sketches online, the show will eventually fail
Embrace YouTube like SNL US
The internet will reward you
@Sky_SNL The biggest one is free marketing reach
Then cultural influence—you can't go viral on a streaming service
Then there's the feedback loop you get from views and shares. You'll learn what connects and what fizzles
Finally there's supplemental ad revenue—it's less but it's real
@Sky_SNL congratulations on your great work so far!
One note—you're leaving major value on the table by limiting YouTube to just a few sketches per episode
I know it seems wise to drive people to streamers for the full episodes, but SNL US posts every sketch for good reasons
gotta be honest i'm left pretty cold by the ai song stuff. it's objectively extremely impressive, but the application range feels extremely narrow
i'm a big ai fanboy but i honestly find it cringe
i think i'm looking forward to it sounding NOT like humans
@amino1music good note, thank you. finding it important to keep myself from phoning it in too. gotta push back and exert intention sometimes just to keep things loose
it's quite odd and interesting working with ai models as a people pleaser
gradually training myself that it's ok to ask for infinite tasks
i'm still polite cuz that's just how i like to be
still have a way to go with this
resonate for anyone?
My most popular Sora video was “an Elaborate regency romance where everyone is wearing a live duck for a hat (each duck is also wearing a hat), a llama plays a flute, prestige drama”
I am not sure why OpenAI has decided their compute has more valuable uses. Really a mystery.
i use both chat and claude to write ecommerce listings, so I just spent a few minutes pasting replies between the two so we could converge on copy policy
i expected it to take 17 passes and they did it in 6
fun and odd to work with utterly egoless partners
Hey movie theater owners, you want the fix? Stop charging $90 for popcorn
Old logic—you had us, we understood you'd charge a premium
New logic—you DONT have us, you need to get us BACK
We all know popcorn costs 11 cents. Make it a loss-leader. Upcharge us for nachos
@DKThomp I enjoy your work, thank you. Here to say it seems to me Dem approval #s are stubbornly low because Dem voters think their leadership hasn't fought Trump hard enough. So Ds and Rs both disapprove of Dems for opposite reasons and that keeps the D rating deceptively low
Ok so here's a take—if the Anthropic team thinks "all lawful use" is not enough to limit AI military applications, they should tell us what laws they think we SHOULD pass that currently do not exist
