Price is pretty aggressive, relatively speaking. Great value. But don't forget, these cars are built in China and Tesla can afford to be aggressive on price bc of it. I expect the vehicle to be priced higher when it is eventually manufactured in the US.

BREAKING: Tesla has launched Model Y L sales in Australia and New Zealand 🇦🇺 🇳🇿 Price is AUD$74,990, which converts to about C$72,300 or US$53,100. First deliveries in May or June.

@forestmanjohn Looks awesome! Is target price $80? That’s impressive. Love all your design targets. What are the target dimensions? Keeping it relatively small is an asset to minimize counter use.

After nearly five incredible years, today is my last day at Tesla. I joined Tesla in 2019 after being an avid fan and owner. I moved from North Carolina to California to take over the referral program—a program I knew and loved, having referred 12 people myself. In my five years at Tesla, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some of the most interesting projects and product lines, driving massive impact for the company. There are too many to name in a single post, but here are a few of the highlights my team accomplished: 1) I revamped the Referral Program to maximize value for Tesla owners. When I joined Tesla, the referral program was extremely operationally inefficient and did not add value to owners the way it should have. Old referral awards had yet to be fulfilled (many of which I was owed as an owner) and the “one-size-fits-all” mentality made it hard to flex demand to specific models and incentivize all customers to refer. I built the new program with the Tesla community in mind—more approachable to the masses, an assortment of awards that appeal to all customers, 48-hour fulfillment for most awards, and enhanced referral tracking that made it easier to get credit for referring friends and family. We brought back the referral magic of the older programs and offered fun, exclusive awards like invites to unveilings, early Cybertruck deliveries, and CyberHammers, among others. I am hopeful the program returns at some point, since it is a core connector in the community. We had some great concepts in the pipeline to continue making the program a value-add and motivator for loyal Tesla customers. You already talk about your Teslas and how much you love them—you should be rewarded when you go above and beyond to convince your friends and family to get a Tesla by showing them that it is one of the most affordable, safest, and fun cars on the market. Thank you to everyone who has used the program over the years. Your support and active engagement was my source of inspiration to constantly strive for a better, more rewarding program. 2) I took our enterprise platform, Tesla for Business, from zero to one. In 2019, we only offered a consumer experience, and large enterprise companies did not have an option for managing their fleets of hundreds or thousands of cars. The consumer app was their only option. Tesla for Business now allows for seamless management of a fleet, regardless of size, and has expanded to support management of pay-per-use Wall Connectors and Tesla Semis. This platform will continue to be a huge value unlock for our business customers. If you’re interested in learning more, feel free to reach out, and I can connect you to our top-notch enterprise sales team. 3) I helped Tesla become the first company ever to sell physical items natively in Dogecoin. I vividly remember getting an email over the holidays in 2021 that Elon wanted us to start accepting Dogecoin for items on Tesla Shop—except the catch was that he wanted to price the items natively in DOGE and have the price be the same globally! This was a huge challenge since taxes, shipping, etc., must be paid in fiat currency. The team spent over 72 hours non-stop determining how to make this happen, including legal and financial hurdles that had never before been considered. We moved FAST, and on January 13th, we launched the feature globally. We became the very first to not only convert the local currency to Dogecoin, but actually set the price of an item in DOGE! This was an exhilarating project that proved just how fast the Tesla team can move to pull off things that have never been done before. 4) I worked with SpaceX to launch tens of thousands of photos from the Tesla community into space. This project was inherited from one of the old referral programs and was extremely challenging to pull off. We wanted to uphold our word to laser-etch photos from referral owners and put them into an orbit where they would likely remain in space forever. Over a few months, we worked with SpaceX to lock down which mission would meet our needs and obtain the right permissions. We landed on the KPLO mission, and on August 4th, 2022, we launched a laser-etched mosaic with all the owners’ photos into space! You can view the video in a comment below. 5) I helped launch Tesla Tequila, GigaBier, CyberBeer, Cyberwhistle, and many other limited edition items on Tesla Shop! My Tesla Shop team was incredible. We built infrastructure to handle massive amounts of traffic and to ensure things were seamless when dropping low-quantity, high-demand items. The last 420 bottles of tequila we sold on 4/20 at 4:20 pm for $420 and sold out in under a minute! Bottle 369/420 will remain on my shelf as a reminder of all the fun launches and late nights the Shop team and I pulled off during my time at Tesla. I am so grateful for the opportunities Tesla has given me and will remain their biggest fan—albeit from the sidelines for now. The next book in the Tesla series will be incredible. I have no doubt Tesla will continue to lead the global EV market, solve generalized autonomy, and bring Optimus to market as one of the first mass market humanoid robots. @elonmusk if there is ever anything I can do to help Tesla keep winning, let me know. If you want to talk EVs, referral programs, growth, or the next wave of innovative technology, my DMs are open. I am always available to connect on new opportunities, ideas, or how the future should be built. What’s next for me? If you know me at all, you know I can’t sit idle for long. I’m looking forward to how my next chapter is unfolding. San Francisco is truly the city of builders, and the startup ecosystem is as vibrant as ever—I’m excited for what is next!

This means a lot to me because it is my exact tenure I have worked @Tesla 2015-Present. Producing a vehicle selling for half the cost with better specs is an absolute grand slam. It’s an honor to work with the smartest, most driven team I know.

For any gaps Tesla has in data for v12, they should implement a referral credit program for geographies that need it. 'Perform 100 unprotected left turns in the next 7 days and receive 1,000 referral credits!'
