@DetroitLemons99 @navybluegooner Cripps should absolutely play primarily as a forward. When he doesn't have the ball, he's a defensive liability. And even when he does, Cripps tries to take on the entire opposition. Always wants to wear the cape. Quickly become a selfish footballer, has Patrick Cripps.

@KitWalker021475 @HeathTudor1 @RalphyHeraldSun Umpires think a tackled player handballing the Sherrin back into his guts is a "genuine attempt" to get rid of the ball. I wouldn't count on this amendment yielding positive results.

@HeathTudor1 @RalphyHeraldSun A full length dive, a player attempts to knock the ball back in play but it just grazes the fingers and goes out . Intent or not?

Revealed: The key change to the lasso rule. Players who dive to touch the pill to stop a penalty after their teammate kicks the ball to the line will now be penalised for insufficient intent. They have to make a genuine attempt to keep it in. The details heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/news…

@RalphyHeraldSun Could've just penalised players who were ushering the ball over the line when they had a play on it. After all, they were the ones showing "insufficient intent" in keeping the ball in play. This was yet another unnecessary rule change and 3 weeks in, it's already been botched.

@JonoBaruch Take a look at the pitiful effort from Chayce Jones on the outer flank that led to Wiltshire setting up the Martin goal. That's what cost the Crows this game, not a genuine 50-50 call on the broadcast wing.

@leafy17 @rohancct @7AFL I thought (not 100%) they did co-exist and that umps could still pay “insufficient intent”. Personally I would penalise that player who knocks it out to avoid the lasso FK. It’s a team error either way so why not penalise the error?

"THAT'S A HUGE STORY." 😳 Tom Atkins fooled the ump... and the Cats made the most of it.

@peteguley @rohancct @7AFL Can the two rules co-exist though? We've seen players smack the ball OOB to avoid a lasso free kick, and in turn be penalised for insufficient intent. Surely you can't ping a bloke for being desperate and knocking it out?

@leafy17 @rohancct @7AFL The rule is now “last disposal”, not “insufficient intent” and it’s a much simpler, fair and unambiguous rule. Many will focus on this one error and ignore the 100s of clear, simple adjudications.

@hasumpstuffedup @AflGlicko In the 1st term, Rankine bats ball away from Stewart in a marking contest. Ump calls play on, Stewart gets ball & is pushed in the chest - free to Cats. Martin jumps on Bond's back, drags the ball in and a HTB free is paid against Bond. Martin kicks a late 2nd quarter goal.

@7AFL This goal is on Chayce Jones for running under the footy and allowing his opponent to collect and deliver inside 50. He must give a better blowie than a 2 dollar whore. Nothing else explains how he gets games.

@rohancct @7AFL They has nearly a decade of testing to view in the SANFL. It's a terrible rule. They could have just penalised players who ushered the ball over the line. They're the ones showing "insufficient intent" to keep the ball in play.

@NewLeafBrian @hasumpstuffedup Surly that can’t be a recorded disposal that would happen so many times throughout the game the ball accidentally hitting a players foot
