Love daggy and also quality 60-70s music. The science of sport is interesting but the art of sport is what captivates.

@PaulZauch And Josh has become ‘Josh’. They did it for both.
Just a simple way of differentiating and TBH I think it works well.
Pie hate is amusing.

When did Daicos become just plain old “Nick” to the Fox Footy commentators?
Who do we think he is Madonna?

THE MATCH-SAVING MOMENT 👏👏
In just his 12th AFL game, Bulldog Michael Sellwood produced the play of his LIFE.

@BBakerRacing @stanley_jett Great that you gave him credit and supported him. In ‘our’ punting group we often want our jockeys to defy that trend of go out wide and save ground inside. Amazing how often the rail works.
English

May I be so bold to say this was one of the finest rides I have seen on one of my horses.
🛩️ The Jett zeroed in on his finish line target and cut the corner to boldly ride HEZDARNHOTTOO to victory in the last at Caulfield.
Absolutely love that @stanley_jett had the confidence to call me this afternoon and request to stay hard fence, and then execute his plan perfectly under pressure. Initiative pays! 👏

JETT STANLEY PULLS OFF A HEIST‼️ Hezdarnhottoo wins the last at Caulfield against the pattern of the day! @stanley_jett @bbakerracing

@thumbsup4eva @Daicosian 7 days break and no travel. I think they’ve got his season mapped out ok.
English

@Bmwils11 @Daicosian Yeah, better team won IMO. Doesn’t mean we couldn’t have won, obviously. 🤬
English

@peteguley Both can be true 🤷♂️
I reckon there were 2 clear missed frees to Nick tonight. I also reckon he gets a good run overall.
English

@DamianWhite42 @rhainw And sure, I get that chasing a small deficit is different to defending one. IMO, our defence of a tight deficit is awful. It used to be great.
Tonight was different, we were chasing and I thought we did it well.
English

@DamianWhite42 @rhainw Totally agree. Two things, we aren’t as good, plus others teams are actually implementing some of the strategies they’ve learnt from us. Freo a classic example - that unlosable game v Carlton a few years ago (they lost) was unforgivable but they now shut things down properly.
English

@DamianWhite42 @jwilla14 @StuKnight73 @Jen2310 @JonnyHutchins Wwwwait, Nah hang on. You can’t just copy John. Did you watch the game? 😉

@DamianWhite42 @peteguley Hope Fly doesn't do a Chris Scott and make the loss all about the errors by the umps.
We made far more
English

@lucasgarth @DamianWhite42 Also, while there are some comments about umps in my feed, not one has mentioned that it might have cost us the game in a close finish. I guess that’s why I follow you people. Nice work!!
English

@lucasgarth @DamianWhite42 I don’t think he will. He’s surely better than that.
English

@Bmwils11 @rhettrospective Yep. Totally fair opinion and you’re right regarding (or inferring) the way rules are written . This incident is not a hill I’ll die on - just mentioning the way I lean.
Unfortunately this is the first season where I throw my hands up and admit “I no longer get it whatsoever”. 🤷🏻♂️
English

@peteguley @rhettrospective I don’t think it was excessive or unreasonable for him to make contact in that way. I don’t think there is a clear guide for umpires because truly, what does undue exactly mean in the context of a football field?
English

@hasumpstuffedup @dfranc76 I also thought the umpiring was very good FWIW, even though assessment on umps when my team is playing isn’t worth jackshit. Good game, better team won.
(Actually my opinion is not worth jackshit in any game.)
English

@dfranc76 @peteguley I thought it was pretty good overall
But a missed arm chop on De Goey and the missed block by Sidebottom were late errors
English

Look at that. Sidebottom held his ground and didn’t attempt to mark. Correctly no FK. #AFLDogsPies @hasumpstuffedup
English

@Bmwils11 @rhettrospective There’s not, I agree. But how else can you interpret ‘undue’ contact in a marking contest?
IMO, two actions is a decent guide but I don’t know how umps are advised.
I think two actions is reasonable.
English

@peteguley @rhettrospective I don’t think there is anything in the rules that relates to two actions in a marking contest.
English

@hasumpstuffedup @TomCC0899 *wrong because Voss was tracking back with the flight of the ball back into Wilkie.
(Sorry, I hate those who say “wrong” without giving a reason)
English

@hasumpstuffedup @TomCC0899 Totally disagree on both. I’ve seen Wilkie’s many times and I think you’re wrong.
OK, I might need to see Sidebottom’s more than once.
English

@Bmwils11 @rhettrospective Fair. But getting to the space that another player holds can’t be done illegally. For mine, two actions makes it illegal.
(But I’m also coming to the conclusion that as much as I’ve tried to be abreast of the rules and to support the changes made, I no longer have any clue.)
English

@peteguley @rhettrospective I think they’re related actions. Richmond player is in the space where the ball is going to drop, McLean needs to get access to the ball to mark it
English

@TomCC0899 @hasumpstuffedup I’ve seen it once. Did his opponent run into Sidebottom’s arms? If so I totally retract my comments.
English

@peteguley @hasumpstuffedup Looks like he has his arms out in a sheppard motion to me Pete
