Many of my theologian friends think this is one of my best cartoons. I suppose it's because it illustrates that we interpret scripture through our own fears and fantasies so that they confirm our preconceptions and magically mirror what we already believe. Confirmation bias.

Maybe it’s because I’m familiar with Levi’s work and maybe you haven’t gotten the chance to understand him yet. But I encourage you to find him if you seek truth in spoken word poetry. There are only a few writers who truly inspire me. Two names: Levi the Poet (Levi McAllister) and Cameron Smith. Back when the world was on pause during the pandemic, I found myself writing constantly poems, reflections, even a book called The Poets. It was Levi who inspired me to keep going. I found his work during that time and felt like he saw the world the way I did. His art. His music. His honesty. It resonated deeply. I even had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and in those moments, he showed me the utmost respect as a writer and author with this note. I’m humbled our paths ever crossed. “Behold the one beholding and smiling.” Those words changed something in me. I can’t wait to share this space I’ve been building this quiet, meaningful, sacred space and when I do, I’ll be requesting something simple: Bring your truth. Just like Levi helped me bring mine. “The least of these” is referring to persecuted Christians, not the poor. So, I’m voting for the set of policies that will best protect the truly least of these: Jack Phillips, Joan Bell, David Daleiden & other believers who have had their lives ruined by progressive activists. No chance I could vote for the party that routinely targets Christians for harassment, discrimination & lawfare.

You know very little about the Bible, and you don’t believe in its authority. You’re upset because your politics-driven eisegesis is being threatened. Careful study of the context of this passage makes Jesus’s meaning very clear. No serious person thinks He’s talking about the whole world.

This is COMPLETELY made up. There were no Christians when Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Followers of Jesus were first called “Christians” at Antioch in Acts 11 at least 12 years after Jesus talked about supporting “the least of these.” People like Allie who make this claim are perverting the words of Jesus in order to score partisan political points and baptize their bigotry against anyone who doesn’t share their understanding of faith. This is what it looks like to take the Lord’s name in vain.
