To be honest, Sunnis are even more inclined to resist US-Israeli hegemony than Shiis, and they are a much bigger threat due to their numbers. So the US and Israel have worked to destroy Sunnis first by establishing pro-US dictatorships over them. Also, given its size, geography,  natural resources and human capital, Iran is one of the most poweful Muslim countries alongside Turkiye and Pakistan. As a result it is one of the only Muslim countries to maintain its independence. And they only gained this independence in 1979 after overthrowing the pro-US Pahlavi Shah. Shii groups across the Middle East are then able to oppose the Israeli-US empire because they have Iranian backing, training, funding, and weapons. We see this in Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq. Conceivably, Turkiye, Pakistan, or perhaps Egypt could also establish Sunni groups across the Middle East to do something similar. This is why Israel and the US keep threatening them and preemptively intervening in their affairs.
