@GraceInklaar I know you are from the Netherlands so I will explain this to you. American Presidents don't need Congressional approval for military action. Only to declare war. In America, declaring war is a formality. A formality extended only 11 times. The US has been apart of 300 wars.

The USA bailed Europe out of Two world wars, Rebuilt Europe under the Marshall Plan, and Armed Ukraine against Russia and Europe won't even let America use a military base when we need it. What is America getting out of NATO? Completely onesided.

This is how we bid farewell to many of our distinguished fallen heroes. The Maidan, the country's main square and the national sanctum. Not all of them have Ukrainian passports. U.S. Marines veteran Ethan Hertweck volunteered to fight for Ukraine and was killed in late 2023 in the Battle of Avdiivka. Only now have Ukrainians managed to retrieve his body from the Russians and honor him as a brother in arms.

VP Vance asked for a thank you for an aid package he voted against. His administration also told Zelensky that he (1) has to give up parts of his country to Putin , (2) cant join NATO, (3) has to pay back the US for past aid, and (4) there will no new aid. So exactly why does Vance think he is owed a thank you? The American people deserve a thank you & have received it from Zelenskyy many times.

Please. No more speeches in the Senate about “freedom” until one Republican has the guts to stand up to Trump’s lies about Ukraine & Putin. Ukraine did not start this horrific war. Russia did. Zelensky isn't a dictator. Putin is. The US must not enter into an alliance with Putin.

@JeffLegget1969 @SaukoJu @OilersProud @SenSanders That's the problem with the USA, it's never had war waged on its own soil from a foreign invader and so has no concept. Imagine for a minute Russia invaded Alaska, occupied it, and then to make for peace Ukraine told you Russia could keep it.
