Looking back at the World Cup and forward to (another) new Prime Minister with @darrylmorris on @TimesRadio - always a pleasure. Thank goodness Spain won. Trump tried to photobomb the celebrations - of course he did - but despite moments of massive controversy, football won in the end. Cape Verde captured our hearts and England beat France 6-4. As for British politics, Andy Burnham will be our sixth Prime Minister in seven years, our seventh in 10 years. And King Charles, on the throne for less than four years, is already about to greet his fourth PM. Let’s hope this one’s a keeper (for a while).it won’t be easy.

The Times is reporting that Scotland Yard has banned the use of “amplified noise equipment” to stop protesters from drowning out speeches by Starmer and Burnham on Monday. Good.
