@marksample Restrictions encourage genuine creativity. Plus as an artist, it's much more fun to problem solve than not imo.

#C64 Game tile sets in a nut shell: A. Text mode -you have up to 256 unique Chars you can create. B. Using these Chars you can build a unique tile (in this example 4x4). C. Assemble your tiles into a map!

@JohnHen65953721 Yep. I remember those restrictions back from when I was a C64 artist. I miss restrictions in games Dev. ⭐

Most important decision you will make? Colour choices! A char can contain effectively 4 colours. 3 set and 1 unique (Fg). that unique colour (Fg) can only be from the first 8 colours in the palette. Background colour (Bg) is the one set colour for your Hi-res chars.
