Definitely @Fanatics - as a hobby shop - If you’re lucky, they offer you one case that allows you to make decent margins (30-40%) - but on a $150-200 box that’s not a lot to keep the lights on. Then… they wait to see what the price does. If it goes up, they offer you more at an elevated price and less margin. If it drops? They just offer you more at the original price, also squeezing margins. Now with no clarity or communication around breakers clients are questioning buying from shops. They will literally kill card shops, but maybe that is the point ?

Ask MLB how it’s gone for them. Ask NBA fans if the numbers stay on the jerseys they heat press. They are about quantity & really hate you the consumer. They (Fanatics owns Topps) will advertise the ‘hottest blue xfractor cards’ & then tell you 4 months later that they didn’t print them and that you can return them, but they don’t see a difference in value. Private equity of sports essentially.

@KelCards83 To lighten the load, you might as well not send the players on old rosters in. Players in old unis (even though they had a new home by July & got rookies correct) & forgetting to print the aforementioned ‘Blue’ cards on the box 🤦🏻♂️ what a horrendous job. It’s insulting.

We’ve heard feedback from some collectors and, based on that input, have decided to make Blue X-Fractors referenced on the packaging available to collectors. While we do not believe there is any value difference between silver and Blue X-Fractors, we understand some collectors prefer the blue version.
Topps will be printing Blue X-Fractors and offering collectors the ability to exchange silver X-Fractors for Blue X-Fractors on a one-for-one basis.
