@8394Canucks 100%…he was given a gold mine. Made some great moves to be competitive! But let’s not forget his drafting record. He might be a good guy to go into Toronto to flip the script now. But anyone saying bring him back to the cancuks, please don’t.

This is a Results business. Totally understand. But think about what Rutherford has done here. They have a great scouting/selection process. Look at our draft picks, NCAA signings. Lots of potential. Something that haven’t been said since the 2000’s. They know how to find young talent. Rutherford ain’t the problem. Players always speak highly of him. Allvin can go. You ca jus tell players don’t respect him and most likely everyone else in the league. He’s lucky Jim is there. Foote is a confusing one. Terrible line combos. Sitting young guys. You might want to start fresh with Manny. He’s shown he can develop players. Let him, like Marty in Montreal, get them going while they’re young and let him go for 3-4 years. Results dotnt matter in the first 2-3 years. Development does.

@anaheimd_memes I think 1-1 for EP40. You get a C who is a two way C that can put up 60-80 points in Q’s system.

@Derek_Lee27 @Canucks @fr_aquilini you guys know what to do. 1 for 1. Q gets a two way C who can play his system (cough cough EP40). We get a younger C/W that will turn into J.T. miller 2.0. Perfect during this 3-5 year rebuild.

Model updated and now includes the Ruck twins. Both have the look of players that often go in the early teens. Somebody has to try and draft them together. It's the only way!

I've been saying all year...McKenna is a Nikita Kucherov change of pace type player (and similar frame)..Now will he have Kucherov's immense love of game and work ethic to produce insane numbers? Not many do, but McKenna is an absolute #1 overall lock that will make teammates better. Kucherov was 21 his first full NHL season and wasn't a point per game until he was 23. McKenna is only 18. He's VERY young. His NHL impact won't be initially like Celebrini--he's a unicorn--it will take some time. I'd recruit some super talented linemates and come back to Penn St. for another season and turn pro this time next year when he's 19 and 3 months. But, it's tough to say no to the NHL and that level of teammate talent...he'll probably end up there and he'll slowly figure it out.

Look at the way Gavin McKenna dictates time and space. The point streak extends to 8 games and 17 points

🗣️ Raty should at least get some time playing 15 minutes a night. There is no reason for him to not be utilized here. 👉 @JamieDodd, @ThomasDrance, and @LandonFerraro talk about how Aatu Raty needs to be played down the stretch.

@davehall1289 That’s such a good point... If I’m Van, I’d take Liam early in the second. I use my third all day. Well, CBJ 3rd lol not worth the gamble to wait till 4.

@mdems10 One thing that I ask myself is that if someone takes Liam, does Markus drop for the simple fact that no one wants to take just one? If you took Liam in the second, could you afford to wait until the fourth ro select Markus?

Bryce Pickford, a 2025 third-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens, sits one goal back of Cameron Schmidt for the WHL lead with 42. His 78 points ranks well within the top-10 among all WHL skaters. He’s a defenceman. Worth noting: Jonas Woo (Jett’s brother), his teammate in Medicine Hat, actually has more with 80 points — also as a defenceman — and is re-eligible for this year’s draft. That's in addition to the Ruck twins, who sit at the top of the league with 94 points. What's in the water over @tigershockey.

@mdems10 Skating is definitely an area of concern. I think if you took Liam, whos a natural goal scorer, in the mid 2nd and snagged his brother in late 3rd/4th i think they are well worth the gamble. We know that skating can be worked on.

@LaheyHNIC Apparently it was a 6th. I understand what you’re saying but I’m not moving him for that. Set your price at a 3rd get offered a 4th. Sure. But a 6th. Out of principle and other deals done the road, don’t just cave to an unreasonable offer for someone of his capabilities.

Vancouver did decent at TDL. Moved most of the guys they needed to. Hearing Blueger had an offer they didn’t take is infuriating tho. Being able to say that they extracted value from everyone they could, is just such a better statement to make

Sounds like there were no real offers for Evander Kane. Perhaps the Canucks could have gotten a similar return to Kampf for Blueger but elected to hold on to him
