Something about this time feels different.
@Winknews has lost many thousands of followers.
There are 5,000-10,000+ comments from people vowing not to watch.
In a small to medium market, that’s a BIG dent.
In 2026, this could hasten the end of the station.

This has to be one of the most short-sighted TV decisions a station or station group has ever made. Matt’s talent, reach, expertise and class is virtually unmatched in this industry; he is among the greats like Spann and Skilling. WINK probably just ensured its own demise.

@michellivanking I was there, a straight truck ran into the back of a line painting truck and a truck and boat along with another car were involved. Construction worker died, two trama helicopters took people out of the scene. Very bad situation.

#BREAKING: Hurricane #Erin rapidly intensifies into a Category 5 in the Atlantic this morning. This is the first August Category 5 in 18 years (Dean - 2007). In just 24 hours, it has doubled its intensity...going from a 75 mph Category 1, to a 160 mph Category 5. The forecast thankfully remains unchanged and Erin will curve away from the United States. - Matt

@AmandaMGoetz I was reading the comments last night and couldn’t believe some of them. Crazy!

@tropicalupdate Electric was $375 this month. We keep at 76 during day, 73 at night. — I think good windows make a big difference. In our old house, it was all original windows and it was never less and $400

Went to see this months power bill. Never fun. They asked me a question: "What's raising your power bill?'. I think I know one big reason. Plotted days with feel like above 95 degrees for Tampa. Pretty much all of June and July qualified. What is your monthly bill? And what do you keep your temp at? We keep ours at 74/71. I know that is a big part of it. But I can't work in anything higher than that.

This is the craziest story I’ve read on the internet today.
