Top 2025 draft pick Billy Carlson has heated up in May with the weather in the Carolinas, hitting .301 with a .410 OBP, 13 walks and 22 strikeouts. We chatted after last night’s Ballers’ win, in which Billy had 2 singles, 2 walks, 3 runs, a sac fly and 2 stolen bases. Sox coaches tell me there’s a lot of pop in Billy’s bat, and is only a matter of time till it shows itself. Manager Jayson Nix told me “Billy is wiry strong, whippy. I know he doesn’t have a HR but he’s really impacted some balls, especially the other way. You can see it. The power is in there.” @FutureSox

@Thomas_hook I hear ya. They need to do it at some point. 5th pick coming out of college. Needs to be ready and they also need to see what he has over 2-3 months

@mpisci My argument is that his stuff is good enough. Maybe it’s worth a shot to stretch him out in Chicago.

The White Sox…. and Anthony Kay would both benefit moving Kay to the bullpen. I suggested this a few weeks after they signed him and I think this does a couple things: Gives you a LHP that can eat innings and clears the way for Hagen Smith.

What an awesome 7-2 homestand for the #WhiteSox. Some of the most fun seasons are the ones that weren’t expected. This has qualified as that so far. Just a really fun baseball team.

@JamesFox917 Going into the year I’m assuming Sox were depending on Smith & Schultz, but need a lot more out of them. Both need to throw strikes.

Hagen Smith can provide what Erick Fedde has been. I’m not sure what the #WhiteSox plan is but I’m ready to see the former 5th overall pick in the big leagues.

@Soxsideboys_ Wills is hurt and Hicks was rolling for bit plus he is getting paid. I agree on Peoples. Sox need to start pushing position players like Gonzalez and and B Montgomery. Cut ties with with Acuna and Bendi. Deeper when there up
