@things_sox 1. Gonzalez really doesn't have a place on the team, present (Murakami) or future (Vargas/Bonemer). 2. The 40-man is limited to 40 men 3. Jim Callis was on Future Sox & thought Pitt overpaid for Gonzalez. League doesn't value him how you do. Teams might not have wanted him.

Is Landon Thome really so good that it was worth exporting former top-15 pick Jacob Gonzalez for, right as Gonzo was realizing his potential? I could see if Thome was a can’t-miss prospect, but it feels really nepo-y.
