It’s been a long couple of days, however, whilst I was feeling sorry for myself, my books went ahead and became available in major retail stores—my paperbacks of my paranormal romance series, my vampire romance book, and my espionage thriller, and my psychological thriller!

Well, after that long piece yesterday about my work with the singer on Fiverr, I came to find out he's STILL up for recording the rest of the album. I went from feeling super bummed to super pumped with a slight bit of bumming around, to super pumped. I don't want to work today... is that okay?!

I'm a HUGE metalhead and have been composing music since I was a teen. Over the last two years, my best bud and I have been producing new music for a project called Paraviolence. Rather than get bogged down with finding the right drummer and singer, we outsourced to some session musicians we found on Fiverr. We found our singer Mathias-Erik and immediately fell in love with his style. Raw, visceral, and sometimes, guttural. And Mathias was an absolute pleasure to work with because he helped sculpt every track so that it matched our vision. Sadly, I went to direct message Mathias and saw that his services were no longer available. This kinda bummed me out, but I also remembered us talking about his new band about five months ago. As if by some universal cosmic force... I was browsing YouTube videos and popped open my Home page. YouTube knows I love checking out new metal acts, and has served me several gems that have become my favorites. Well, go figure, I see THIS video by Surgent with a song called Dismantle / Replace youtu.be/LWcfJMkBO34?si… It kicks in and I'm like, "Oh, yeah, I found my new cardio music." But about a minute or two into the song, the camera punches in on the singer, and...WTF?! Is that Mathias??? Yep! He'd clued me in and I'd totally forgotten I'd checked out Surgent's backlog of songs. They were already pretty solid with the previous singer, but with Mathias? They leveled their game up, big time! By the way, this is NOT an ad for Fiverr. I just wanted to share a little spinoff story, something different from my author life. I'm more proud of Mathias than anything and so glad to see him dominate as a killer metal vocalist. Big props!
