In 2014 a Sudanese court sentenced a pregnant Christian woman to hang. Her crime: apostasy. Born to a Muslim father, raised Christian her entire life. She gave birth to her daughter in chains in a Khartoum prison cell. Her name was Meriam Ibrahim. This was not ISIS. Not a failed state. This was Sudan's official judicial system functioning exactly as designed under the sharia architecture embedded into the state in 1983 and reinforced for 30 years by the Brotherhood government that followed. Meriam was eventually released under global pressure. She now lives in America. The legal architecture that sentenced her never left. And right now in 2026 the movement that built it is actively attempting to recapture full state power in Sudan. The Brotherhood's militia recaptured Khartoum last year. Its officers are embedded throughout the SAF. NCP figures are being quietly restored to judicial posts. The US designated the Sudanese Brotherhood a global terrorist organisation in March 2026 precisely because it identified this revival in real time. This is not history repeating itself. This is the same people. The same institutions. The same ideology. Attempting to rebuild the same state that sentenced Meriam Ibrahim to hang for being Christian. The EU is being asked by its own MEPs to designate the Brotherhood a terrorist organisation. Meriam's daughter is 12 years old. Born in chains in a Khartoum prison. Europe is still deciding whether political islam is a threat or not. digitaljournal.com/article/sudane…

France banned a Brotherhood-linked conference in Nantes this week. A court upheld it. The Interior Minister ordered it. La France Insoumise called it state Islamophobia. The same left that claims to defend the Republic is defending the movement France's own intelligence services say wants to replace it.

What's funny is Germany is no different on the international stage either. Hosting major Berlin conferences, pledging billions in aid, and pushing “civilian transition” talks while Islamist networks embedded in Sudan quietly rebuild the old architecture with little real pressure. The country has soft vulnerability at home. Diplomatic denial abroad. Same ideology. Same European blind spot- and the left is completely and utterly to blame Link: auswaertiges-amt.de/en/aussenpolit…

Germany's intelligence chief just warned a closed Bundestag meeting. The Muslim Brotherhood is infiltrating German political institutions. Strategic. Patient. Non-violent. Building relationships, influencing legislation, embedding through civic organisations funded by German taxpayers. His most alarming finding: left-wing parties are the most vulnerable. The SPD. The Greens. The Left Party. "More open and susceptible" due to what he called "a poorly understood concept of tolerance." A German political scientist confirmed it in blunter terms. Left-wing allies "possess no argumentative resistance to the Brotherhood. They are discursively co-opted and subordinate themselves." The Brotherhood does not confront the left. It cultivates it. meforum.org/fwi/fwi-news/g…

I welcome today’s positive vote in the European Parliament on our EU-US trade agreement. A deal is a deal - and the EU is delivering its part. With this milestone, we are days away from fulfilling our commitment to remove tariffs on imports of US industrial goods. With full implementation on both sides, our agreement will deliver even more benefits for citizens and businesses. Ensuring strong and stable transatlantic trade and investment.

Trump may have signed a deal. He may have signed a hudna. The difference will not be visible today. It will be visible in two years when the IRGC has rebuilt, Iran's nuclear programme has advanced under negotiation cover, and its proxies have consolidated in every theatre where the ceasefire gave them breathing room. The West keeps signing documents. Iran keeps playing the longer game. And the longer game has a name. It always has.

Trump just announced a deal with Iran. "The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!" Before anyone celebrates there is a word you need to know. Hudna. 🧵

Egypt is a central and stable partner for Europe in a region in turmoil. We are swiftly delivering on our 2024 partnership. With €1.5 billion to be issued this month to further support Egypt’s reform agenda. And some 8 billion in investments already mobilised. Together with President @AlsisiOfficial, we also discussed our diplomatic efforts in the Middle East. We support the swift implementation by all parties of the agreement between the US and Iran. And wish to see meaningful progress in Gaza on recovery and reconstruction.

Qatar is secretly trying to erase its tiny Baha’i community. Their crime? Existing as a peaceful religious minority that believes in the unity of all faith This is political Islam in soft power mode: intolerance wrapped in designer suits and air-conditioned skyscrapers. Where exactly is the outrage from the west? hrw.org/news/2026/06/1…

I welcome the agreement reached between the US and Iran, following sustained diplomatic efforts by several partners. The priority now is its swift and full implementation by all parties. This agreement should allow for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Freedom of navigation must be restored toll-free. This is essential for regional stability and the global economy. It opens the door to broader negotiations on peace and security in the Middle East. And should end Iran’s nuclear and ballistic programmes and its destabilising activities in the region. And of course there can be no peace in the Middle East while Lebanon is in flames. Once again Europe calls on all parties to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity and implement a genuine ceasefire. In Evian, G7 leaders will meet partners from the Gulf and the wider Middle East. Europe is ready to play its part. This crisis also carries a clear lesson. Once again, energy dependencies have been weaponised. We must diversify our supply routes and develop alternative export corridors to diversify away from the bottleneck of Hormuz. We will discuss this, and more, in Evian.

The US and Iran have announced a deal to end the war and re-open the Strait of Hormuz. This marks a potential breakthrough. It can give much needed space for deeper negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme and other critical issues. Once implemented, the deal should also ease the global energy crisis. I have spoken to my Iranian and Gulf counterparts in recent days, and today, EU Foreign Ministers will discuss how the EU can be closely involved in the next phase. From economic leverage to nuclear expertise and longstanding relationships with Gulf partners, the EU stands ready to contribute to a sustainable resolution.
