@IsaacDada1 You’re actually slow if you think Rooney is better than this guy.

I may make fun of Neymar Jr cause people compared him to Sir Wayne Rooney but I have been watching clips of Neymar Jr since his first or second season playing for Santos on YouTube as a child, he’s definitely among my TOP 10 favourite

They actually play almost the same style. Creative power and dribbling prowess. Both players are on the same level.

🚨Andrés Iniesta on Vitinha, Pedri & other recent midfielders in Europe, focusing on their passing game to their era.
🗣️ Look, I respect the numbers. But numbers don’t win you the big nights. Vitinha and these boys? They’re the safest passers alive. Sideways left, sideways right, five-yard pass, recycle, repeat. Beautiful on the stats sheet… but it’s football for accountants.
Xavi and I didn’t play like that. We took the ball in tight spaces and we cut defenses open. Surgical. One pass and the whole pitch splits. Kevin De Bruyne still does it when he’s on it – that’s the standard we set. You feel the danger every time they get on the ball.
Today? Most of these guys are scared. They don’t want the mistake on their name. So they play the safe option every single time. Possession without purpose. I watch games and I’m waiting for the killer ball… and it never comes.
Interviewer: So is there anyone in the current game who actually plays with that bravery and vision you and Xavi had?
Iniesta (no hesitation):
Only one. Pedri.
That kid is the real deal. He sees the pass three seconds before everyone else. He’s not afraid to try the difficult one, the line-breaking one, the one that makes defenders look stupid. He’s doing exactly what we did at Barcelona – not just keeping the ball, but weaponising it.
Everyone else? They’re good players… but they’re sideways merchants. Vitinha included. PSG spent serious money on him and he gives you control. But control without incision is just pretty football. Pedri gives you the knife.
Interviewer: Harsh words for a lot of players right now…
Iniesta (laughs):
It’s not harsh, it’s honest. Football evolved… but in the wrong direction for midfielders. They became robots who don’t take risks. Pedri is the exception. He’s the only one still playing the game the way it should be played.
