I'd like to pay my respects to @Fame21Moore who we lost yesterday.
I spoke with Darren many times over the last couple of years about XRP, crypto, and life in general. He was the ultimate gentleman and scholar.
What exemplifies Darren more than anything, I think, is when his crypto got hacked a couple months ago and he lost almost everything; his first instinct was to post about how it happened so that no one else would make the same mistake. That was his nature.
Darren had great enthusiasm for privacy and liberty. He educated people, including me, about privacy, defi, and above all, Liberty. He never wavered from those ideals for a quick buck (and he had many opportunities).
He brought a lot of people into this space with his well-researched videos and commentary. The XRP and crypto community really lost a good one yesterday. RIP Darren Moore, and thank you sir.

I have received some very sad news.
I’m not privy to all the details, but I’d like to honour a valued member of the #XRPCommunity and the wider crypto community.
Grateful for all your contributions.
You’ll be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, my friend @Fame21Moore 🙏❤️

How can the XRPL ecosystem realistically prevent multiple competing permissioned domains from evolving into effective liquidity silos—despite remaining on the same ledger—thereby recreating the very fragmentation problem that private/permissioned networks like Canton were built to avoid in the first place?
English

Permissioned Domains has reached the 2-week activation period! 🎉
To mark the milestone, @antoniokaplan and I are doing an AMA covering:
- Credentials
- Permissioned Domains
- Permissioned DEX
- How Ripple Payments leverages these to deliver institutional-grade FX

@EdwardHennis @HugoPhilion @JoelKatz What are the benefits of the XRPL Lending Protocol's Single Asset Vaults approach, and is it possible to integrate it with Flare via FAssets for cross-chain DeFi, amplified yields, and composable strategies using Flare's EVM and oracles?
English

Perhaps the funniest thing that has ever happened in my time at @Ripple happened yesterday. A new employee from one of our recent acquisitions walked up to @chrislarsensf at a company event and said, "So... What do you do at Ripple?"
English

Thanks! From what @JoelKatz shared on purpose built programmability XLS-101 enhancing or rather "supercharging" XRPL's core strengths. Would this boost Xahau by validating and mainstreaming its hooks model on the XRPL mainnet? Additionally, would this enable richer integrations via bridges for Flare ...amplifying DeFi and oracle use cases across the ecosystem?
English

@paxtechservices It's a smart contract system purpose-built for the XRP Ledger, keeping what makes it unique and supercharging it.
English

@JoelKatz you called both ideas "awesome technically but probably not realistically likely to be good, at least not any time soon."
That's the kind of teaser ....you know drives the whole #xrpcommunity insane🤪. Which specific trade-offs or risks make you so bearish on both approaches right now .....even though they're technically brilliant?
English

There are two ideas floating around. Both are awesome technically but probably not realistically likely to be good, at least not any time soon.
One is to switch to a two-layer consensus model with the inner layer being incentivized. The inner layer would have 16 inner validators chosen by the outer layer based on stake and use staking/slashing just to advance the ledger.
The other is to keep consensus the same but use transaction fees to pay for ZK proofs of correct smart contract execution so nodes don't have to run the smart contacts themselves.
English

XRP Ledger was created in 2012. The world of blockchain has changed many, many times over since then.
My own thoughts on governance and consensus models have evolved. I’ve been mulling over how XRP is used in DeFi (both organically with apps and protocols like Flare, MoreMarkets, Axelar, Doppler, etc) and natively onchain. With programmability initiatives and smart contract discussions underway, it seemed like a good time for us to also discuss what other DeFi capabilities natively could look like.

1/6 XRP has always been about moving value quickly and efficiently. Over the years, it has gone from powering payments to helping settle tokenized assets and enabling real-time liquidity across different markets.
