Institutions need privacy. They can't expose balances, counterparties, order flow, payroll, client data, treasury movements, or strategy to the public. Different networks & dapps approach this differently. @FlareNetworks' is practical: TEE-based confidential compute. Hardware enclaves process private data and return results on-chain. Why it matters: The institutional requirement isn't total opacity, it's selective disclosure. Hide sensitive data from the public, while still proving the required facts to auditors, counterparties, or regulators. That's where FCC fits. It's a controlled execution environment where: 1. keys are generated and held inside TEE machines 2. instructions must clear Flare's data providers / cosigner thresholds 3. machines are registered and attested on-chain 4. results can be signed and verified 5. FDC can prove execution status and attestation results back to Flare = Privacy institutions can actually use: confidential but still accountable. Flare Confidential Compute gets very real when you move from "TEE concepts" to an app that actually settles insurance. This guide walks through a rainfall insurance extension where the TEE fetches OpenWeatherMap data inside the enclave, signs the result, and lets the contract pay out automatically if the threshold is met.
