(3/3) This slogan was part of a much larger V for Victory postal campaign with: * 8-ft illuminated V signs on all GPOs * Manual exchange girls to say "V for Victory, number please" (shortly after discontinued) * V on PO stationery * V posters * V stickers on windows & vans

Hi @philangles (1/3) Occleshaw states the V slogan was introduced 4 Aug 1941 in Melbourne, 11 Aug in Sydney, & later that month in other states. Most I've seen were cancelled on Monday, but I have in my collection (see below) examples from Aug 14 (Thu) and 15 (Fri). #philately
