I pitched @TimDraper & @AdamDraper from @BoostVC and @drapervc this is what I learned: ██ imagine prepping for weeks, refining your pitch down to a tight, compelling 3 minutes… and then, 3 days before the pitch, they tell you it’s happening in a steakhouse 🥩 oh, and by the way, it’s 2 minutes now. this is what happened when i pitched @playbacknet to the drapers. I had to cut the technical details and focus purely on the narrative - what we do, the problem we solve, the traction we have, and how the world changes when playback succeeds. 13,000+ people on the waitlist. qualifying alpha users next week. no fluff. no wasted words. then came the interruptions. they’ll stop you mid-sentence, challenge you, try to throw you off. the trick? don’t fight it. answer fast, skip the slide if needed, and keep the flow going. what i learned: - be flexible. your pitch will never happen exactly as planned. - roll with the interruptions. answer directly, keep momentum. - get to the point. a good story beats a deep technical dive every time. - use ██ to redact words. make them more curious. steakhouse pitches 🥩 high-pressure interruptions. brutal timing cuts (pun intended). this is the game. and we’re just getting started.
