@russbengtson @JDVance1 Not to mention all the massacres that target transpeople -- a lot more of those than there are transpeople shooting others.

We're still learning about the horrific shooting in Nashville. But if early reports are accurate that a trans shooter targeted a Christian school, there needs to be a lot of soul searching on the extreme left. Giving in to these ideas isn't compassion, it's dangerous.

It’s Feb. 28 and Day 28 of the Proud Boys trial. I’ll be live-tweeting here and on Lawfare: bit.ly/3QKlKii. We are hoping to finish testimony by key prosecution witness Jeremy Bertino, an ex-4th degree (top) PB & friend of lead defendant Enrique Tarrio. /1

@RadioFreeTom Virginia requires 40 hours in-class instruction, 10 hours instructor supervised driving and record of 40 additional hours including at night if you are under 20. My son did it, my daughters didn't. They could get license at age 20 without any of that.

@RadioFreeTom States have significantly upped the requirements for drivers' licenses for kids under the age of 20. It can be done, but it competes a lot more with school work and activities than it did when I was learning to drive.

The hatred towards Meghan Markle from some commentators in the British media is an absolute disgrace. What could it be about a young, intelligent woman of colour who uses her voice that upsets them so much?

@Carnosa22 @mgm943979 @dfvalenta2 @chrislhayes So many people think sports will get them into good colleges. Can’t hurt, but only the tip top best kids get recruited. For the rest, it’s another extra curricular. Only do it if your kids LOVES it and everyone understands it is not a golden ticket to college/career.

As parents, we're at the age where we are truly entering The Organized Sports era and I guess we just...don't get to do anything other than take kids to games and practices for the next 6-8 years. Is that the deal?

@chrislhayes Do your kids actually enjoy the sport in question? Is it displacing other activities they might equally enjoy, like music or art?

I wish I believed in anything with the insane level of passionate commitment that the average MAGA believes there's a communist party in America moments from seizing the means of production.

@lainiebird2011 @TheMamaMacaroni @tribelaw When executive branch investigates possible crimes judiciary doesn't usually have a role until a person has been indicted, with possible exception where warrant was invalid (4th Amd). Cannon is overseeing DOJ investigation pre-charge, hence, separation of powers issue.

Chief Judge Pryor recognizes the Trump position as one that compromises the separation of powers by inviting judicial intrusion into a core executive function without showing a likely Fourth Amendment violation. It’s over.

@rparloff I love the attention you paid to the legal details like who gets to cross-examine a witness. Better than CourtTV. Thanks so much.

... Mehta thanks the lawyers and we're done. [who wants to go to Olive Garden?, someone in media room jokes.] I will not be here staking out the jury verdict, but many colleagues will. Appreciate everyone who tuned in. Hope this has been helpful. Have a great holiday. /248-end

@mgerrydoyle I am definitely not a twitter guru, but I had not even noticed the blue check mark before it was pointed out to me last week. So, yeah -- reputation and recommendations are more important.

it's fascinating to me how many ostensibly smart people are misreading the backlash against paying for a verified tag. most people with the badge don't see any value in it--that's why they don't want to pay, not that they're elitists or free riders
