In the last moment of earthly journeying, it is not wealth, power, authority, or human glory that accompanies man, but his deeds, his words, his thoughts, and the state of his heart before God. Then the whole truth of life is revealed, and on the scales of God's truth, it is not the external that is weighed, but the internal: faith, repentance, mercy, patience, love, and the breaking of the heart. On the one hand, there are sins that have been forgotten by man, but have not disappeared without repentance; evil deeds, idle words, condemnation, pride, cruelty, impurity, and all the ways in which the soul has darkened the image of God. On the other hand, there are the prayers of the Church, the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, the intercession of the holy angels, and all the good deeds that have been done for the sake of God, even if they have been hidden from others. This image reminds us that human life is short, but eternity is infinite. Therefore, we should not live in carelessness, postponing our repentance, for no one knows the day or hour when they will be called by the Lord. As long as the heart beats, as long as the lips can utter a prayer, as long as the soul remains in the body, the Lord awaits man's conversion and accepts anyone who comes to Him with humility and tears. There is no sin that can overcome God's mercy if a person truly repents. There is no darkness that cannot be dispelled by the light of Christ. There is no depth of fall from which the Lord cannot raise up the soul, if it clings to His ineffable love with fear of God and hope. Therefore, let us remember the hour of death not for despair, but for salvation, not for fear without hope, but for sobriety, prayer, and the correction of our lives. Let us keep the holy Orthodox faith, resort to the Sacraments of the Church, purify our souls by confession, be strengthened by the Communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ, do works of charity, forgive our neighbours, keep our hearts from malice, and give thanks to God for everything. May the last hour not find us unprepared, but may the Lord grant us a Christian death. A painless, unshameful, peaceful death, and a good response at the Last Judgment of Christ. May the Most Holy Mother of God cover us with her holy omophorion, may the Guardian Angel not depart from us, and may the Lord lead our souls to light, peace, and eternal life. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us and grant us repentance before the end. Amen 🙏🏽
