Very late to the party but Susanna Clarke's Piranesi is hands down one of the best books I've ever read. Very hard to talk about without impacting on the reading experience, as discovery is a major joy in the book.

@MaxTundra Ahhh, Cabasa. This album formed the soundtrack to my trip around the bottom right corner of the world, sent out to me on a minidisc by a friend (I guess we helped kill music with our home taping, soz).

This ol' thing is 20 years old this year. TWENTY! One of the lyrics is "I'm nearing 30" - you do the math[pop].

@yannseznec I'd say yes, it's definitely made music making more accessible. The illusion is that it's easier to be heard / noticed with the global reach of the Internet.

Sci-fi franchise films are in the “on ice” period. Permanent dramatic stock music covering for lack of plot, choreographed processions of character reveals and restaged iconic moments.

it's more fitting to critique them as on ice experiences, or perhaps more accurately rides. Its way less economical to have everyone travel to a theme park, and the permanent music and sequential reveals of iconic moments mimic the medium of theme park attractions

@ethicalstore my online account says cancelled but also processing. It also says shipping was free, not £2 (which I was charged). Not very ethical, guys.

@ethicalstore hi, I got an email saying my orders been dispatched. It also says its been cancelled and that I won't be charged. The order breakdown then says I've been charged £2 delivery despite ordering nothing. My bank shows I've been charged the full price. What's going on?
