Didn't JD Vance say the people celebrating Charlie Kirk's murder should be reported to their employers and lose their jobs?

Greetings from Auburn Hills. Here today to hear VP JD give an address at EDSI, a manufacturing facility. A Politico readout from earlier noted that Vance is likely to highlight the admin's "successes" in lowering prices and cutting taxes. The room here is at capacity.

@JohnSellek Yes. Most of them were designed by Albert Kahn. I worked in one of them, the Ann Arbor News.

@rhaglund I always thought the Booth buildings were impressive, built like banks. Now artifacts of a past empire. But they give you a good idea of what the industry was like.

@glennrstevens The story says it will build $4.3 billion worth of batteries at the plant. Is this the same plant it built with GM and bought out GM's share?

The Times seems to print a lot of other silly stuff! I finally decided I'd had enuff of the high subscription cost, so I called to cancel 2 weeks ago. When I said it was now too expensive, they cut my rate in HALF! If you don't have a love/hate relationship with the NY Times ...

@BobPagesports @NYT At one newspaper where I used to work, we used to say, "all the news that fits."

I don’t think there’s ever been en a technology whose builders constantly promise that, if they succeed, tens of millions of jobs will be destroyed and the world might end.

AI is deeply unpopular. According to Pew, sadly only 17% of Americans think AI will have a positive impact. In China, 83% believe AI will be positive. A token tax & political backlash is coming unless the narrative changes. 🇺🇸👀🧐

Notice how really rich people keep encouraging people to go into trades, but none of them would want that for their own children. There’s nothing wrong with trades, but what they’re really trying to do is create a nation of service workers and laborers. People who remain in service to them. They want a much wider wealth gap than there is now. That’s why suddenly they are so anti-college and are trying to break the university system.

We’ve got 8-10 inches of new snow today, and this is on the way Sunday. Thought this meant the wave height on Little Traverse Bay. 👀😂

I'd say 90% of my job as a cub reporter was talking to people on the phone, building a rapport and reporting what they said. New reporters now seem to have to spend 90% of their time emailing generic inboxes for canned crap.
John Lomax V@Thelastlomax

Thinking about a time when reporters could pick up the phone, call someone and actually get answers. Now it's "pls send us an email - we will reply in eight weeks" or "contact our contracted media team, who is not on-site and knows nothing about the subject at hand"

Across the street from our Temple Israel in West Bloomfield is Shenendoah Country Club, the largest Chaldean-owned country club in the US. As the tragedy unfolded, the children were taken there, where the staff fed and supported them in every way. Neighbors. Partners. Community.
