I love this stuff from coaches. Underwood was an assistant at Western Illinois when I was a student. I covered Division II when Ben McCollum played for Steve Tappmeyer at Northwest Missouri State and Tom Smith coached at Missouri Western. That's a long way from charter planes.

Love this from #Illini head coach Brad Underwood - asked if he has any issue/finds it unfair to have to play Houston IN Houston in the Sweet 16. "I could care less... I'm an old JUCO ball coach. I drove on 16 passenger fans. I drove from Dodge City, Kansas to Mesa, Arizona for a basketball game... If you had told me back then that I'm getting to coach basketball in the Sweet 16 and play Houston - I would sign up for it, I would crawl to get there." Says regardless of where the game is, Illinois would/will need to play well to beat the Cougars. (Video from NCAA)

This is wild if it pans out. Will Wade leaving NC State after 1 year to go BACK to LSU would be pretty unprecedented. I’d imagine it’d be acutely felt as a slap in the face to NC State.
Tangentially related to VCU, NC State was slated to return to the Siegel Center next season.

Alvaro Folgueiras is only the fourth Big Ten player to have 14+ points and 5+ rebounds while coming off the bench against a No. 1 seed and the first since MSU's Paul Davis vs Texas in 2003.
And he the only one of the four to do it in a win.
