The NFL’s viewpoint on adding more games to standalone windows, including Wednesdays, is that “more football for fans is only a good thing,” NFL executive Hans Schroeder said today. The league believes that is being validated by the ratings it continues to generate. At this point, the league does not appear to believe there’s a tipping point where it starts to feel excessive.

Just spoke with NFL VP of Broadcasting Onnie Bose. He says the league opening the season on Wednesday this season — creating a five-night opening week — might not be a one-off. Between Patriots-Seahawks and Thanksgiving Eve, the NFL’s pursuit of Wednesday night has begun.

Josh, come on now 😂 KC fans are not celebrating this schedule. -5th-hardest sched despite finishing 3rd in AFCW -Wk 5 BYE is brutal for an older roster -Only 3 home games from Wk 3 → Wk 15 -On the road for Thanksgiving... again -BUF → LAR → CIN stretch from Wks 12–15 w/ 3 straight away games If Roger is protecting the Chiefs, he’s got a funny way of showing it.
