There is a lot of misinformation about there about tariffs, so it’s time for me to set the record straight. 1. Tariff is a Latin word that, translated into English, means “taxation on a foreign government” 2. Fred Smoot first introduced tariffs with his landmark 1930 legislation to stop the Great Depression. And those tariffs worked as they literally lifted America out of the Great Depression a decade later 3. Tariffs are paid by foreign government officials and not by Americans 4. As a result, foreign adversaries like Putin, Kim Jong Un, Xi, and Khaleesi of Iran will now be paying for thousands of factories to be built in America 5. How can you be against that?
