This isn’t whataboutism. It’s about understanding a basic point: any religion taken to the extreme can become oppressive. Just look at medieval Europe, the Spanish Inquisition, or national-Catholicism under Franco. The problem isn’t Islam, Catholicism, or any religion itself, it’s how people interpret and live it. When it becomes fanatical, exclusionary, and intolerant, that’s when it turns oppressive.
