Finally! The #ThanjavurAirport will soon become a reality! 🚀 AAI has cleared the terminal design for the new passenger terminal, link taxiway, and aircraft parking bays at Thanjavur Airport. The project will be developed on the 55 acres handed over by Thalaivar then CM Thiru @MKStalin’s #DravidiansModel Govt to the Union govt, about 2 years ago. The project picked up serious pace after we met with the Defence Secretary and Secretary of Civil Aviation in Nov 2023. The same month I also visited the proposed airport site along with TIDCO officials and district administration and also facilitated AAI’s request for a four-lane approach road. Following this we also held meetings with the Civil Aviation Minister and his team in 2024 and 2025. #THANJAVUR AIRPORT UPDATE : #Trichy Airport Director S.S. Raju said that administrative approval is being sought for a domestic airport at #Thanjavur, estimated to cost ₹100 crore. Around 55 acres have been allocated, and the project is awaiting clearance from #AAI. The airport is planned with a 3,400-metre runway, and building designs have already been prepared and construction will start after the approval soon.
