@Morningbird_Asa That hasn’t been my experience, despite my persistence. 😂 But yes. I think those jeans and crocs look good together!

@greatannihilat3 @JuJuna5266 Ah, well I can’t speak for all religions, but if we’re talking about the big ones I think to some extent it’s right. For Muslims it certainly is the case, East and West.

There is disliking islam and there is disliking brown people. I think this is just racism.

@JuJuna5266 I think recent online discourses have reinforced for me people’s deep hatred for Islam is impossible to separate from violence and imposition. Most criticisms of the religion are either reductive, overgeneralized, presumptive, or flat out ignorant. Muslims become hate objects.

@JuJuna5266 If only there was a neat separation between that. It doesn’t exist.

@dracmtzz I wish I had started by asking about your experiences with religion so I could better understand your point of view. Forgive me for not doing that.

@dracmtzz Your zeal is commendable! I get it and you are not wrong there. I also witnessed and was hurt by so much religious nonsense. I’m sorry to hear that dude. I hope you’re in a better place now.

@dracmtzz You are right in many cases, but this framing doesn’t neatly fit into the discrimination and bloodshed Muslims face today. Because violence against Muslims has been perpetrated and supported by atheists too. As has the opposite.

@talalthinks I clarified on a different reply but yes, religious conflicts do exist in the context where both parties genuinely believe in the religion But that is literally one of the reasons why I believe religions are cancer to this world Dosent mean religion is the only bad thing

@dracmtzz Yes. They were. And religious hate because of religious understandings obviously exists. I hate that too. But I want you to challenge your claim, because conflicts often involve religion but do not always center them. Sometimes, like in colonial Algeria, secularism was violent.

@talalthinks Werent the of the genocide perpetrators Christians? I know that within religious groups they do actually hate because of religion As ive seen what happened between Pakistan and india India And hence why people who genuinely believe religions are dangerous and easily manipulated

@dracmtzz Thank you. Look, we’ve argued a lot. And I was frustrated at some points. But I think both of us tried to engage with mutual respect and good faith. All I ask you to do is just go over my responses and try to understand my claims and points of view.

@talalthinks Well then it's really stupid. Only extremists that support/cause war and genocide deserve death, still dosent change the fact that all religions should go

@dracmtzz This is why, for instance, some attack white-passing Muslims. Not because they see them as brown, but because they view Islam as a religion as so despicable and inhumane that violence is the only warranted response to it.

@dracmtzz Many do, yes. But not all. And that’s my point. Motivations for hating Muslims are plentiful. Some operate on a racialized understanding of Islam and its associations with brown skin. Many, many, many people do not.
