@yaronbrook Ayn Rand had a blind spot. She was atheist. So, her statement that Altruism is evil, would be correct. I say Involuntary altruism is evil, it's theft and redristribution. Too bad she didn't come to Christ and learn the gift of voluntary altruism.

President Trump just unloaded on Tucker Carlson in a blunt NY Post interview, flatly denying Carlson’s warnings that he was steering toward nuclear war w/ Iran. “Tucker’s a low IQ person that has absolutely no idea what’s going on,” Trump said. “He calls me all the time; I don’t respond to his calls. I don’t deal with him. I like dealing with smart people, not fools.” This isn’t just another Trump insult — it’s a stark sign of how far Tucker has fallen from grace in Republican and broader right-wing circles. Once a top voice in conservative media, he’s now being publicly dismissed by the president himself. The irony? For the first time in years, many progressives who despise Trump may find themselves nodding in rare agreement with him on this one.

anyone who supports “a whole civilization will die” or finds it acceptable, those are the ones that need to be deported. After putting red coats in the dirt for much less, the founders ran plenty of their supporters out of the country.

@SethDillon Spot on. This is why Ayn Rand said that Altruism is evil. She was an atheist and her framework was communist Russia. She did not have the Christian framework of understanding the difference between voluntary & involuntary altruism. I suspect this dolt doesn't either.

No, Christianity does not promote or require socialism. And it is not at odds with capitalism. The idea that socialism is a biblical model requires you to ignore the difference between willing generosity and forced redistribution. When the early church in Acts shared resources, it was voluntary; it wasn't mandated by the state. Peter acknowledged private property rights and so did the ten commandments. Stealing is only wrong if private property ownership is a given. Same with coveting. All virtues require freedom, including charity. Socialism removes the freedom and kills the virtue. If the state takes your wealth and gives it to someone else, you've been taxed. You haven't been "generous" because it had nothing to do with your heart. Capitalism creates wealth — so there's something to share — and respects our individual freedom to share it. The charity that results from the wealth that's created is real charity; it's actually an act of loving one's neighbor. And it isn't just theoretical or idealistic. Free markets paired with Christian values have produced the wealthiest, freest, and most generous societies in history.

Christianity is not socialism. Socialism is a reaction to Capitalism, which is state-sponsored usury. Read Barren Metal: A History of Capitalism as the Conflict between Labor and Usury for a coherent philosophical understanding of economic principles. It's available at fidelitypress.org/book-products/…. Christ was crucified between two thieves: capitalism and communism.

Donald Trump has been a national politician for a decade. Anyone still reacting to the guy’s negotiating tactics and hyperbole with this sort of hysteria ten years in should be disqualified from political commentary. If he nukes Tehran at 8pm, I’ll admit I’m the crazy one. When he doesn’t, this crew will admit nothing and find some other comment to be scandalized by.
Bo Winegard@EPoe187

Ok this is legitimately a threat to annihilate an entire people, an obvious and grotesque war crime. There is absolutely no defense of this and it should lead to immediate impeachment and removal.

@RationalMale Why not? They seem to find the pool boy sexy? What I'm eluding too is the 'game' factor. Can a househusband evoke such a response? He'd have to be very adapt at sexy time, and probably be adapt at playing active "Dread Game".

Do you think women can learn to find househusband-type men sexy, given that this would be an adaptive thing to do in order to enable reproduction in couples where women are bringing in an increasingly larger share of the household income?

Most certainly not what I voted for or intended for when I donated 12.8 bitcoin to Trump's team. I tried, I put my energy behind a wrecking ball to drain the swamp, to stop war, my intentions were good, if not naive and childish to think after 65 years the corrupt american political system could be dismantled. I am left with the decision to never again support political ambitions of anyone, I distrust all professional politicians and the toilet bowl they created and encourage as an incubator for professional politicians. I am and shall seek out and align with those who are freedom fighters, who believe in peace, in humanity, in the the right for others to live freely, openly, and creatively as communities who are not repressed or oppressed by any government or body. I build around me a massive community of champions, of hero's, those who choose to use their voice irrespective of the attacks that come from speaking the truth for the betterment of humanity. Who wants to join? The Right Thing to Do is the Right Thin, irrespective of how convenient it may or may not be. Stand up, Voice up, Man up; this is your defining moment we should all be judged on. Do I / you choose to; 'go along to get along', or 'fight back against insanity, traps, corruption, enslavement, oppression, surveilance and stand up like a man and fight those that enslave humanty" Our species requires it of you.

@stanger_aidan @TimePreference_ Banks don't go broke from issuing too much credit, because it doesn't cost them anything to issue. The mechanism of lending is ultimately pure profit margin for them. Where they go broke is from engaging in too much leveraging on their 'investment' side, & interest rate changes.

@theplummerco @TimePreference_ …even though it's the main one. Because they’re in equilibrium, the distinction between cash & electronic money doesn’t matter. Look at it from a more practical viewpoint: there has to be some constraint on the amount of money in the economy; what better constraint than this?

@stanger_aidan @TimePreference_ Yes credit (digits on a bank ledger) are convertible at a 1:1 ratio, but the distinction matters. And since they are exchangeable, & banks issue unlimited amounts of credit, this effectively unconstrains the quantity of money, no matter what the medium is, paper or metal.

@theplummerco @TimePreference_ You seem to be missing the fact that money in banks and cash outside the banking system are in equilibrium, as either can be exchanged for the other on demand.

@StefanMolyneux I get it. You see the difference between the “Is” & the “Ought”. I too am struggling with knowing what the “ought” to be, & the realization that the Church is powerless to make the “ought” the new “is”.

What is democracy? It is government of the people, by the people, for the people. But the majority of the people are boomers. This means democracy is a system of government of the boomers, by the boomers, for the boomers.
