Thanks mate, it does take a large share of profit, but it was helped by what you’ve mentioned low rent, especially on 800+ square foot space, this was with 4 chairs, I’ve got a sheet from last years (2nd year of trade) which the profits have increased 40% on, definitely making it worth it nowadays compared to the start. The low rent was secured through a network connection to someone we already a unit off previously, to be honest I couldn’t believe it myself when everything was signed; got a 2 year 5 year and 10 year break out clause also🚀

2 and a half years ago I made the choice to go from a barber earning 75% of his haircut revenue to becoming a barber shop owner. 💈 Starting out, my barbershop was 4 chairs which has recently been expanded to 8. 🪑 This doesn’t showcase initial shop kit out fees. 🏗️ below I will showcase the profit and loss after my 1st year of owning a barbershop. 🧾

Last year, I hit a massive milestone by transferring over £50,000 into my investment accounts. I didn’t do it by skipping lattes, cutting coupons, or living like a monk. I did it by blowing up my income, shifting 100% of my focus onto forcing my salary past £100k. The shift was urgent because my old mathematical blueprint was going to take nearly a decade. 🧵

@Mariusz_Invest Dang. EPS looks strong and MSFT undervalued. What’s your stop? Also can you hold this in an isa?

@AshyCompounds I live off £7K/year. Zero income at the moment. I've never been able to earn more than about £7K, except for a couple of years in the dotcom boom circa 1999 when I earnt about £20K/year. Boggles my mind to think people earn £25K/year.

Where do you actually sit in the UK income distribution? Most people guess wrong, in both directions. Full-time UK earnings, April 2025 (ONS): Bottom 10%: £25,672/year Bottom 25%: £30,342/year Median: £39,863/year Top 30%: £50,825/year Top 20%: £59,795/year Top 10%: £76,622/year If you're on £40k, you're sitting almost exactly at the median. Not poor, not rich, dead centre of the country. If you're on £60k, you're already in the top 20% of full-time earners. If you're on £76k+, you're in the top 10%. Most people on that salary genuinely don't realise how rare it is. Are you higher or lower than you thought you'd be? 👇 Source: ONS ASHE, full-time employees, April 2025. #UKEconomy #PersonalFinance

@AshyCompounds Interestingly for men in London the median is £53k and mean is almost £79k, which is higher than most realise. I'm outside London in SE on approx £120k.

7/ First, I upskilled on my own time and dime instead of waiting for a company training budget. Second, if I wasn't promoted within 2 years, I used my network to jump ship because corporate management simply pays more. Forcing my income to six figures completely transformed investing from a multi-decade grind into a hyper-growth machine.
