I crashed my drone this week in an unfortunate run-in with a tree near one of our schools. I got invited to show this video to a class of second-graders the next day. They said, "You should've gotten the drone that has the proximity sensors." Noted. 🤦‍♂️

My classroom management improved when I focused more on creativity and collaboration and less on compliance. Instead of trying to catch kids doing things wrong, we celebrated the amazing things they did well, and those “things” got exponentially better because the fear was gone.

@alicekeeler Those policies exist because if every teacher took the day, there’s no one there to supervise the students.

My kids came home from school... they did fun activities in the gym (no complaints) but it makes me wonder the purpose of policies that restrict teachers from using this as a personal day for an extended vacation when it has the least amount of impact on student learning
