Lake Erie has become a winter wasteland. We hiked to the outer harbor breakwall tonight for sunset in sub zero temperatures. As luck would have it a 20’ snow drift gave us access to scale the ice encased structure. The view from the top of the wall was just incredible. #NYwx

@JimCantore Last time we experienced something close to this was the Xmas storm of 2022. This one was still memorable.

What was our 978mb low that produced 80mph gusts in Buffalo has now morphed up over eastern Hudson Bay to the tune of a ~954 hectopascals (hPa) or millibar (mb) low pressure. The Arctic high to the west over central Canada is about 1046 hPa or mb. That's a 100 hPa or mb difference. An inland bomb to say the least.
