The nightmare is finally over in Coquitlam, BC with this 4.5 day long Atmospheric River storm. Now the cleanup begins. Jaw dropping rainfall totals here in Coquitlam. Final total of an incredible 313.9mm (12.4") of rainfall. Low end in the south of Coquitlam of 234.7mm (9.24") of rain. An absurd amount of rainfall for any time of the year in this area. One of the most intense Atmospheric Rivers in terms of Rainfall that Coquitlam has seen in many, many years. This had higher amounts than the January 31, 2020, November 13-15, 2021, and October 18-20, 2024 Storms. I believe we are going back to October 2003 to see such numbers like this. #bcstorm #shareyourweather @50ShadesofVan @MurphTWN @spann @accuweather @WeatherNation @weathernetwork @JimCantore @MatthewCappucci

It does appear that Coquitlam escaped the heavy rainfall predicted overnight and this morning. But damage done regardless. Since Sunday night 308.9mm (12.1") of rain has fallen on this area. Just an absurd amount of Rainfall for any time of year. But really shocking in March as it is typically our 5th wettest month of the year. We average around 200mm of rainfall for the entire month... #bcstorm #shareyourweather @50ShadesofVan

Longlining isn't just a technical challenge—it’s a lifeline. Today we cleared 8 people, 2 dogs and a cat from the Pipeline Road slide area. Exhausted but glad to have everyone back on solid ground. 🚁🏔️ #PipelineSlide #SARLife

Huge kudos to #Coquitlam Search & Rescue volunteers. After today’s mudslide, they safely rescued 8 people, 2 dogs and a cat to safety after a mud & rockslide. Incredible skill, teamwork and dedication under tough conditions. 🚁🏔️ #SearchAndRescue #BCflood #BCstorm #BCstormwatch
