Need to hire? Hire. Need to fix an issue? Fix it. You are sick. Who cares? You are in a war zone. Who cares? You write TypeScript instead of JavaScript. Who cares? Deliver. Don't cry, don't complain, but deliver. P.S. If I am honest with myself, I do cosplay periodically.

After an incredible 37 year career, on October 1st, Dan Forden (1/4 of the original Mortal Kombat team) began his well earned retirement. I cannot overstate the impact Dan has made on pinball, videogames, NetherRealm & especially Mortal Kombat. A significant part of the first Mortal Kombat's identity was in its tone, mystique and outrageous presentation. Remember the first time you saw & heard an uppercut? The explosive impact.. The announcer's wicked laugh.. The "DUN DUN DUN" before a fatality? Remember the amazing music that defined the atmosphere of the fighting arenas? That was all Dan. You may also know him as the (now infamous) "Toasty Guy" but Dan's audio single handedly created a literal atmosphere that played a major role in the feel and vibe of Mortal Kombat. Please watch and (more importantly) listen to this video. Anything sound familiar? Bring back any memories? I hope you'll join us in thanking Dan for his amazing contributions to MK, and games in general.

Being a people-pleasing and liked-by-everybody fake is a recipe for disaster. You get feedback from reality to a distorted version of you, to your mask. It requires incredible intelligence to turn that back into something useful (and keep faking). A lot of wasted energy. And you attract people who don’t care about the real you anyway. The only way to grow is to be honest and open with the world. Share your work. Write. Create whatever, but create. Share. Get feedback and improve. As you feel. As your heart dictates you.

@scottdomes I think these have the opposite effect on me. Like yeah I wanna do stuff before I die, but it doesn't push me into action. Just makes me want to be even more cautious about wasting time on useless hustle.
