
Chelsea are behind Liam Rosenior and sympathise that he has come into a situation where the squad is said to be ‘knackered’ and has not had appropriate time to implement his ideas.
Summer target lists are underway with all eventualities being considered, as Chelsea feel UCL qualification will likely come down to fine margins in May.
There is no current suggestion that the model will be changed. Chelsea also feel that contract statues with many current stars wanting more money is further proof that it would not be wise to chase signings that would be looking for a high base salary.
The club want players to be together as a team and earn their money. There is not an appetite to create an entitled and unhealthy culture and the cost to risk ratio is high.
Directors are working within the financial restrictions and the model put in place by Behdad Egbhali.
There may be an odd exception but generally this is what I’m told. The club are open to spending high transfer fee’s but not salaries straight away.
