My 84 year old Grandad, lifelong Chelsea supporter, reading my latest submission in The Observer. He has been supporting my long term goals since I was young, when others around me didn’t believe in the power of social media. Only the start 🙏🔵

It’s training methods also. The attackers may have liked it more under Rosenior but the midfielders and defenders would have much preferred Maresca. Overall Chelsea have invested in players for a possession heavy style of Football so that’s what they need to build towards with the next appointment.

Max, when Rosenior came in, these players said he gave them freedom to play and it was working for them. We even started scoring against low-block teams, which we couldn’t under Maresca. But fast forward, everything went bad with a poor run of form and bad performances. So what went wrong? Callum is appointed and they are saying they prefer his style of coaching.

Callum re-affirming players like the Maresca style of coaching more than anything else. Chelsea have built their squad around technicality and positional play so would be a weird one to land on Iraola for example. Not only the first team but the academy structure and also Strasbourg. Chelsea need to get fitter and can’t be out run by every opponent again next season but there’s a fine balance and Chelsea must be careful not to appoint the wrong style of coach for the squad. It would reset the whole process again.

🚨 McFarlane says the Chelsea players have success when playing heavy positional play style: “They've had a lot of success recently playing very heavy, tactical, positional play. They are very open to information and even though they have their own opinions and views on the game, they've been a pleasure to work with”. “If there are any adjustments we need to make, they trust and buy in and we have made a lot of tactical changes in my three games. They've bought into it. They're very, very coachable." (@BobbyVincentFL)

@MaxFSport When do you think we will appoint the new manager. Before the end of the season or closer to the WC?

Imma say it.. Rogers really hasn't impressed me when I have watched him this season. He loses the ball so much. Probably scores in the second half now lol.

@GoldbergCFC @MlrPaul2001 @MaxFSport If you call "reporting" going through the odds- I'll do the same. BREAKING: Chelsea are exploring ALL OPTIONS on next head coach at this point. NOTHING decided as yet but I've heard that Ruben Amorim is someone they've discussed internally.

Xavi is looking for a long term project and wants to manage in the Premier League. Xavi has been analysing teams and reflecting on his past during a break from Football. Some whispers he has been a name discussed internally at Chelsea. #CFC

@MaxFSport Unfortunately people on this app will always spout rubbish but the fact you're one of the go to sources of Chelsea news speaks for itself. Honestly right up there in terms of reliable Chelsea journalists

“Linked us to all free agents” December 2025 - Iraola and Glasner, when they weren’t even free agents. But now Iraola name in the media. No idea on Glasner yet. Today - Xavi, not even really a link, just a few hints I received that we have discussed him as a potential option. I mentioned Howe early and then his name was doing the rounds, he’s now likely to stay at Newcastle unless results are awful between now and end of season. What about the Rosenior break clause? Another guess that got confirmed? What about me saying Reece James received assurances by above, then Reece and Palmer themselves saying they’d received that, another guess? Quenda’s name mentioned in November 2024, signed in March 2025. Huijsen being pushed for, hit the mainstream media 4 days later. Maresca and Eghbali fall out, Rosenior and the play-style concerns (he then adapted to go more conservative following debrief meetings with SD’s and based on player feedback) Pochettino internal stuff at the time etc etc I can go and on and on. You don’t have to like me but don’t lie about my work which I put a lot of hard work into.

@MaxFSport You’ve linked us to ALL free agent managers at this point. One of them is bound to be right surely 😂😂😂 If Liverpool sacks Slot, you’ll say his name is on the list the next day 🫣😂

@ArchieStanding @MlrPaul2001 Man it’s so annoying. I said Howe was likely staying last night and this morning Ornstein reports it, guess that was another guess too? Seriously so annoying trying to explain the managerial process to people. I think I give up on it publicly.

@ObviouslyCFC I think it’s on purpose. They’ll try and slowly build him up. Obviously they can’t keep everyone fit and maybe Lavia is just doomed but he’s been ok, so far..

Any new coach will have to work in collaboration with the medical department. Chelsea are in control of player workload, recovery etc. If a coach is insistent on having his assistant overrule the performance department, it sounds unlikely they would get the job, according to sources.

@miki_djan Chelsea want to avoid a powerful figure like Jesus Perez controlling everything and want it to work how it did with Maresca’s staff at the start before it then turned sour once Maresca got angry with the depth and ignored medical advice on minutes

@MaxFSport The Maresca saga again?... To be fair, Poch had power and we saw many players injured. I dont blame poch but u have to also understand the medical team's perspective. Interesting. Lets see how it goes.
