@nr147 I think there has been the odd ball here and there that looks like it should miss but drops in but other than that the pockets have looked proper tight. Hopefully it lead to a great final because the last few years they haven’t lived up the the drama of the semi finals.
Shouts of "Wuuu" from the Crucible crowd have been heard in support for Wu Yize.
The chants began at the Masters but back then Steve Davis wasn't impressed.
Davis said in January: "Call me old-fashioned, this 'Wuuu' lark is not for me. Save that for the Shoot Out." #snooker
Amy Chen, one of the winners of the annual Faces In The Frame exhibition by Sheffield Young Artists, will toss the coin to decide who breaks first at the start of Sunday’s World Championship final.
Amy, 17, was selected by WST for her outstanding portrait of @nr147, shown below. She will join the two finalists and referee Rob Spencer at the Crucible ahead of the opening frame.
@TheCakeEquation@robert931051@Snooker_Chat No it is not their responsibility to entertain. It is a professional sport and the entertainment is a byproduct of watching them compete.
@1985_LG@robert931051@Snooker_Chat It is. But it's also the player's responsibility to entertain. If they actively play in a way to make it boring, the prize pools will continue to diminish. Guess who'll be the first to complain about that? The arrogance to think they can do that to paying punters is disgraceful.
Legend Steve Davis called the Crucible's longest frame an "embarrassment".
Wu Yize and Mark Allen were in a long stalemate when reds crowded the black close to the pocket.
Joe Perry criticised referee Marcel Eckardt for not acting sooner. #snooker
@TheCakeEquation@robert931051@Snooker_Chat That’s not their responsibility. They are both competing in a world championship. It’s the responsibility of the officials to step in a lot sooner to resolve it.
@1985_LG@robert931051@Snooker_Chat It matters a lot when you're putting off a potential audience from the sport. It's all "what if" BS. Grow a pair of balls and get the game flowing again. Nobody cares about 1 single frame. The sport will never grow with their attitude.
@TheCakeEquation@robert931051@Snooker_Chat Doesn’t matter, every frame counts and if it gets to a decider I’m sure either player would regret gifting that frame to their opponent.
@1985_LG@robert931051@Snooker_Chat Mate, it's Semi-Final and it's not even half way through the match. It's not the final frame of the Final. I've seen players lose their shit and through frames away on a whim before. They should've just risked losing 1 frame. The game needs people to actually want to watch it.
@robert931051@Snooker_Chat Right but you’re not playing for a world championship. Wu wants the re rack so he doesn’t want to smash them open and hand the frame to Mark and Mark has a points advantage so he doesn’t want to re rack but also doesn’t want to just hand the frame to Wu.
@Snooker_Chat Both the players caused it no one else to blame but themselves, a couple of wankers let’s get all the reds in a corner and play poofy tipsy tappie shite , and it came back to bite them , I would’ve blasted fuck out of the reds really poor performance from both players
@JamesHunt07@Snooker_Chat Becuase it was clearly a stalemate. People enjoy a good safety battle but when a situation like this where there was zero progress in the frame for close to an hour because both players were just playing the same shot people will lose patience.
@1985_LG@g2mcc@WeAreWST I'm just here refreshing waiting to see an actual suggestion be made which would've "favoured" Allen, remained fair and legal but not involved every red stuck in one corner
@1985_LG@g2mcc@WeAreWST He's not gonna be happy whatever logical solution you present, because Mark was leading, the ref probably should've told Wu to smash the reds or he forfeit the frame
@GWSnookerTips Like a referee telling a boxer to go for a knockout instead of winning by decision 🙃
Terrible take this. Snooker isn’t a race or who can pot most balls in a certain time limit
@g2mcc@WeAreWST Neither of them were playing attacking safety shots. Why is it not fair? Wu wants the re rack. Theres no point warning him that if it’s not resolved then it will be a re rack because that’s exactly what he wants.
@1985_LG@WeAreWST So penalise the player playing the attacking safety and who holds the lead in the frame. The game needs to have a look at that situation and more than likely will because that quite simply is not fair.
@g2mcc@WeAreWST The onus has always been on the player in the lead to break the stalemate as they are the ones with the most to lose. The other player wants the re rack. Thats why mark was told and not wu.
