@TheAncientDude @thejmills @MikeLevin Canada gets 100% of the tolls until their financing is repaid at which point it's 50/50, half for Canada, half for the US. Not sure why that's an issue, it's an entirely fair arrangement.

A brand new bridge between Detroit and Canada is finished and ready to open. It would speed up traffic for millions of trucks, cut delays for American businesses, and help the auto industry that employs people in every state. There is just one problem. Donald Trump won’t let it open. Here is why. The family that owns the old bridge stands to lose business when the new one opens. So in January, they gave one million dollars to a pro-Trump super PAC. Weeks later they met with Trump’s Commerce Secretary. He called Trump. Hours after that, Trump announced he would block the new bridge. The opening was set for June 12. It got canceled the day before. The bridge sits there finished and empty. Now here is the part that should make every taxpayer angry. Canada paid for the entire bridge. Every dollar. And the United States already owns half of it for free. Trump is holding up a bridge we got for nothing, to protect a donor who wrote him a check, while picking a fight with our closest ally and biggest trading partner. This is corruption in plain sight. A billionaire pays, and the President delivers. American workers and businesses pay the price. Open the bridge. A government should work for the people, not for whoever writes the biggest check. nytimes.com/2026/02/20/us/…

@AlanMCole @GreenPlusAnE Given Social Security is funded via FICA tax (ie payroll tax), general productivity boosting from AI even assuming that happens would do jackshit to improve Social Security's solvency, and likely would make it worse due to downsizing.

@ZedrowDon52777 @norad88A @MikeLevin tldr; if you don't have to have probable cause to arrest, suspending habeus corpus allows you to still do it, but if you ever want to indict and try the case, you have to then go back and try to prove you actually did.

@ZedrowDon52777 @norad88A @MikeLevin The suspension of habeus corpus prevented a fuckton of southern traitors from being indicted post-war because throwing people in jail randomly and then trying to build a case against them doesn't work for a bunch of reasons. It's not empathy, it's not being reckless and dumb.

Stephen Miller wants to flip a switch and erase one of your oldest rights. It’s called habeas corpus. Fancy words but a simple idea that the government can’t just grab you and lock you away. It has to prove to a judge why you’re behind bars. That right is 800 years old. It’s older than America itself. And Miller tried to kill it. New reporting confirms it. Inside the White House, Miller pushed to suspend habeas corpus so agents could seize people, detain them, and deport them with no judge, no hearing, no chance to say “you’ve got the wrong guy.” Even Trump’s own lawyers put in writing that this is illegal. Miller pushed anyway. Miller screams “invasion” because the Constitution only allows this sort of thing during an invasion. But this same crowd brags every day that border crossings hit record lows. So which is it? The right to challenge your own detention is the line between a republic and a regime. Lose it, and the government can disappear anyone. I will fight this with everything I have. The Constitution is not optional. Not for Stephen Miller. Not for anyone. nytimes.com/2026/06/15/us/…

The upcoming Fable reboot is moving away from the series’ classic good-and-evil system. Players will no longer grow halos for being good or horns for being evil, as Playground Games wants morality to feel more realistic and less black-and-white. Different people and regions in Albion will react to your actions in their own ways. Your reputation won’t be fixed, allowing you to reinvent yourself as you explore new areas.

@ReaperHugs @Pirat_Nation It's still a universal morality system, it just varies as to how you treat individuals. Which is realistic. For example, you presumably treat fellow cult-members more benevolently than strangers and it wouldn't make sense for strangers to treat you as if you are benevolent.

@Pirat_Nation That's not a realistic approach to morality, that's a denial of reality, pretending that good and evil are opinions and not universal truths. Hard pass.

@XanderXCIV @CoveredGeekly No, pectorals are the muscle, breast cancer is in breast tissue which both men and women have. The reason breast cancer is more common in women by far is because they generally have more of it than men.

@Gianl1974 Okay, the 79 year old only got 90 days for his "failing health" and for not penetrating the girl he raped, apparently it was "statutory rape" as well. What 5 year old can consent to that? Even if there was no penetration he should go to jail and be labeled an offender.
