It’s clear that Governor Youngkin’s #VaBudget is missing one key thing: new, sustainable revenues. Without them, his budget lacks the big, bold investments Virginia must make in public education, health care, affordable housing, and more.

When #VaLeg reconvenes on April 2, they should reject the governor’s harmful proposals and remain committed to welcoming communities and a high-quality public education for every student in every zip code.

#VaGov seems to be reviving his proposal to coerce local jails to enforce federal immigration detainers or face state $$ cuts. This harms immigrant families & would be costly for localities by making facilities hold people up to 2 days after they’d otherwise be released.

While we wait for the Gov’s proposed budget amendments to officially post, it sounds from his speech that some of them would harm Virginia families and students. Here’s a look at a couple of them…
