@Rainmaker1973 Absolutely, in remote parts of outback Australia, we still do this today even with our “machines” (helicopters )

A manual rotary barrel pump, still widely used in rural and off-grid areas for its reliability and simplicity.

@Theblackfemini3 @RennickGBR Juveniles have strong black heads, but as they age around six/seven years, their head often fade and go into more pastel hues 🙂

I’m out on my brothers property this week in Western Queensland with limited reception so taking a short break from politics. We came accross this guy this morning. At first I thought he might have been a venomous breed but Dad reckons he’s a python. He’s certainly much better looking than the kind found in Canberra. Anyone got any ideas?

@RennickGBR This snake is a black-headed python (Aspidites melanocephalus)… They generally are a calm snake, but he is likely not happy about moving in direct light in the open, he's likely being pushed along by a Brahminy Kite in the area

@TB1Kinobe The level of expertise with this build is on display, when you have a ladder on top of a pallet at the end of a stretched-out telehandler…!

Zip board chimney with these installers won't last 10 years. Your grandparents 100 year old house needed a new roof, windows and trim after about 50 years and the brick chimney is just now needing tuckpointing. This house will need completely remodeled inside of 20 years!

We dominate the commodities that power the world: #1 iron ore exporter nearly $88 billion annually, over 50% of global supply. #1 lithium producer fuelling the electric-vehicle revolution. #5 Leading exporter of LNG. Barley, bauxite, wheat, beef, lamb (often #2), Precious opals (90–95% of world supply). The undisputed king of seaborne coal exports making Australia the largest coal exporter on Earth. We feed billions and power industries from Asia to Europe. Our uranium reserves alone represent nearly 30% of the known global total. Gold, copper, manganese, protein, and much more pour from our mines and farms. For a nation this indispensable, risking fuel shortages that idle trucks, halt mines, farms, and supply chains is not mere negligence; it is reckless on a planetary scale. We are a country that literally feeds and powers the world, and cannot afford to grind to a halt at home. Yet while our resources generate extraordinary wealth for the globe, hard-working Australians still surrender roughly half their earnings to taxes and costs. I ask any bureaucrat or politician who cares to answer! Where has all that money gone?

@heirofascania Fun fact… The guy in the blue shorts was a friend of mine. He was a gun bricklayer and one of the funniest men I can remember a real Aussie larrikin. Sadly, he was killed in 2017 in a motor vehicle accident….

There's one country that can claim it has the longest straight road in the world. Is it the US? Nope, it's Australia! The Eyre Highway is a 1,664-kilometre (1,034 mi) highway linking Western Australia and South Australia. To complete it in one drive - it would take approximately 12 hours to complete. Can you imagine driving on something that straight and monotonous for 12 hours? Could you do it?
