Worth adding - Partey doesn’t improve these pressing/defensive dynamics. Probably makes them worse.
Arguable that Ghana were better off with Kamaldeen & Yirenkyi as 8s given the amount of time they spent without the ball - mobility most important. Jumps were huge.

Re-watching the Ghana match with the advantage of TV cameras, replays… looked bad live, but Ayew’s pressing contribution was pretty catastrophic too. Sluggish, repeatedly late. Ghana heavily reliant on Kamaldeen & Yirenkyi (the two 8s) to press. Surely can’t play vs England.
