@garyalsmith @eii_braakofi @atibami The question we should be asking is whether these arrangements were proposed by the GAA with clear timelines and the ministry failed to approve them on time.
Also, I'm not dueling much on the ministry because they are not fit for purpose. However, the comparison is my problem.

Don't be worried about our athletes being targeted for airing their grievances. Nobody can target them, because we are not Jamaica or USA — we dont have better options anywhere. They are all we have.
They should keep demanding better. They deserve better.

@HopeGablah @eii_braakofi @atibami The GFA does not pay for any airtickets ot hotel accommodation for the Black Stars. The ministry does. So why do you not want us to ask the ministry if the athletes are not being well taken care of?

On what factual basis do we justify "Black Stars will be be treated better" when athletes need like just 20% of what we give the Black Stars to deliver more?

@fiifi_manfred The black stars will be treated well than every sports team in Ghana so we should campaign for better treatment for other sports and leave the black stars alone.

No Black Stars team since 1982 has "done great things", bcos every single AFCON and World Cup team has expended more than we spent on them, didnt make us a profit and/or did not win us a trophy. In that time, we can point to atheletes who won us actual medals, with less expense.

@Fentuo_ How do you even try to bring the two up for comparison? Even competition format makes it ridiculously crazy to compare let alone the sport. Well, the BS do win games since 2006 I have seen them do great things. Not athletes whose times keep going in reverse.

Last week, when I was a lone ranger advocating for a Black Stars quota system, almost everyone at the office did not agree with me. They openly disagreed with me on our shows. Or you want a media house where all opinions are same from AM to PM? That's very unhealthy.

@Kwaku_telly Everything you have said on this matter suggests you do not respect our athletes at all. And, yet, you respect the contributions of the Black Stars — a brand that has spent 100s of $ millions and won us NOTHING in 40 years. They dont make us profit too. It's not your fault.

I have covered many events across the world - but I haven't witnessed many frenzied stadiums like that of the Botswana National stadium, the moment Collen Kebinatshipi crossed the line in the men's 4x400m. Personally for me, I think the kind of atmosphere that comes close to that, was when Morocco played Nigeria in the semifinals of AFCON 2025. For Athletics, this is crazy! The stadium erupted in delirium when they won GOLD, and you have to be happy for them. Africa can really host the World.

The Ministry of Sports in Ghana needs to better, don’t set us for failure. If it was “black stars” flights tickets will be ready month prior to their game. 14hrs flight 16hrs lay over is not acceptable for professional athletes. We running with jet lag,no proper recovery.
