Double eliminated by Axl in TNS. I don't mind Pot losing to Zoners but current Axl Pot is a clear oversight. Flick's nerf approach and the refusal to touch FMF and Slidehead in any meaningful way just seems like a complete step backwards from Arcsys in terms of balancing. Oh well

Really hoping Arcsys revisits Potemkin’s megafist and slidehead in the future patches. These moves just feel horrible to use at the moment. I’d like to see more use cases or the return of BMF/kBMF. They were also very reliant on PRC so they got hit even more this patch.

Honestly the Strive patch is going to feel great once we get our hands on it. It's just that fighting game players will always ask for nerfs but then be upset when the nerfs actually come lol.

If the patch settles and the power level is tremendously lower in a healthy way, I will advocate for strive ft2 unironically.

God look at how much better guilty gear looks without wild assault. Also hitting meter gain after a wall break with super or roman cancel is just so healthy to stop snowballs. Love what I'm seeing

I don't see anyone talking about it, but Air Armada is definitely gone next patch. This was the placeholder image for stage skins, but now it's just on the basic CSS. Also the blast zone visual potentially hints at some Aether Mode Stages, very exciting!

@SlashNurse I think they misunderstand that just because grapplers have slow normals doesn’t mean they have bad ones. Zangief might struggle from far away but when he gets close enough to jump in you should be scared. La Reina just isn’t scary.

I got around to playing the La Reina buffs for around 6 hours today. They help QOL but she is still the worst character in the game. She is unfunctional as a grappler and only semi functional as a setplay zoner. I cant imagine this is what the devs had in mind for her playstyle.

@AngryLittleBoy A neutral skip in traditional fighters is a move that opens people up like a dash or teleport. Floorhugging is literally the opposite of that. Where it is gives grounded players an advantage and the opponent must play neutral to open them up.

One nice thing that I can say about floorhugging is that it does distract people from other general mechanics that they need to learn to get good.

@mystery_sol I’d still put lox at the tail end of good, I’m definitely not an up-player. Galvan feels very strong when his linear gameplan works but it’s harder to adapt when it doesn’t, whereas with lox I feel really comfortable switching between passive and aggressive.

Tier List and Galvan MU chart for this patch. I think Galvan is an extremly good and slept on character and for the most part the game feels very balanced, we just got a few extremly good characters who could use some tuning and I think La Reina needs some love.

I’ve said it on stream, but I do agree that Rivals 2 triggers more rage than most fighting games. It’s not just the character kits though imo.
It goes back to our goal of trying to blend the existing communities of Melee, Ult, Rivals and PM under one roof.
